And he said to Abimelech, Increase thine army, and come out.Judges 9:30And when Zebul the ruler of the city heard the words of Gaal the son of Ebed, his anger was kindled.Judges 9:31And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against thee.Judges 9:32Now therefore up by night, thou and the people that [is] with thee, and lie in wait in the field:Judges 9:33And it shall be, [that] in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, [when] he and the people that [is] with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion.Judges 9:34And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that [were] with him, by night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies.Judges 9:35And Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that [were] with him, from lying in wait.Judges 9:36And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou seest the shadow of the mountains as [if they were] men.Judges 9:37And Gaal spake again and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim.Judges 9:38Then said Zebul unto him, Where [is] now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who [is] Abimelech, that we should serve him? [is] not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.Judges 9:39And Gaal went out before the men of Shechem, and fought with Abimelech.Judges 9:40And Abimelech chased him, and he fled before him, and many were overthrown [and] wounded, [even] unto the entering of the gate.Judges 9:41And Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in Shechem.Judges 16:4And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name [was] Delilah.Judges 16:5And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength [lieth], and by what [means] we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred [pieces] of silver.Judges 16:6And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength [lieth], and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.Judges 16:7And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.Judges 16:8Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.Judges 16:9Now [there were] men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines [be] upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.Judges 16:10And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.Judges 16:11And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.Judges 16:12Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines [be] upon thee, Samson. And [there were] liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.Judges 16:13And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.Judges 16:14And she fastened [it] with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines [be] upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.Judges 16:15And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart [is] not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength [lieth].Judges 16:16And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, [so] that his soul was vexed unto death;
