Privacy at Born Again Daily

We try to collect only what is needed to operate the devotional, prayer form, website, and ministry communications responsibly.

Email subscriptions

New Daily Devotional and Christian Walk email subscribers use double opt-in. We record the email address, optional first name, signup time, confirmation time, and limited technical information such as IP address and user-agent data needed to document consent, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot delivery problems.

We do not sell the devotional subscriber list. Signed-in members can independently choose the Daily Email, Sunday Weekly Digest, both, or neither from Email Preferences. Bulk messages include unsubscribe controls, and unsubscribing changes the subscriber record so future bulk sends stop.

Prayer requests and Prayer Wall

Prayer requests are private ministry communications and are not published by default. The form may store the name and email address you choose to provide, the request itself, submission time, and limited technical information needed for abuse prevention and administration. If you explicitly choose Prayer Wall sharing, the request text is sent server-side to OpenAI for automated safety, legitimacy, spam, and privacy screening. A minimized public version may be produced that removes contact information and identifying details; uncertain submissions are held for human review. Your email address is never displayed on the Prayer Wall.

Community forums and AI moderation

Born Again Daily community forums are publicly readable. Writing requires an active, email-confirmed member account plus a separately chosen public forum name. The member email address is not displayed with forum posts. We store public forum names, discussions, replies, reports, appeals, moderation decisions, and related timestamps needed to operate and protect the community. Member profile/certificate display names, new forum names, and submitted forum content are screened server-side using automated moderation; the relevant name, username, or submitted text may be sent to OpenAI for that screening. Public threads may also be processed to create clearly labeled AI thread summaries. Content that is blocked or held may be retained for moderation history, abuse prevention, an appeal, or a serious safety review. When a member edits a public forum post, a prior version may be retained privately for moderation history; it is not exposed through public forum search or the member's public forum profile. When a member removes a post, the removed text is no longer displayed publicly or returned by public forum search. Contemporary political discussion is outside the community and is automatically blocked under the community rules.

Private AI support, answered-prayer testimonies and church listings

Talk to Someone stores the private conversation text, a random browser conversation key, timestamps, limited abuse-prevention information, and the member ID when the person is signed in. The conversation text is processed server-side by OpenAI to generate clearly labeled AI replies. Ordinary Talk conversations are not placed in a routine human inbox. A person may explicitly request human follow-up and separately choose whether the conversation transcript may be shared with the assigned pastoral/support staff member; exceptional automated safety flags remain a separate safety pathway. Staff access is role-limited rather than giving every staff member full administrator access. This service is not continuously monitored and must not be relied on for emergency help. Public answered-prayer testimony is a separate optional action: BAD stores the member’s private submitted version and a privacy-screened public version, and only the public version is displayed if approved. Church-directory submissions and verification claims store the factual listing information and the member/account information needed to review the submission or claim. BAD does not provide private member-to-member messaging through these features.

Contact messages

Messages sent through the Contact form are stored as ministry correspondence along with the name, email address, topic, submission time, and a one-way hash derived from the submitting IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting. The form attempts to deliver a copy to the monitored ministry inbox so the ministry can respond; a delivery error does not erase the stored message. Messages sent directly to public BornAgainDaily.com ministry addresses may also be forwarded to the monitored ministry inbox. Do not send passwords, credit-card numbers, or other credentials through the form or by email.

Donations and PayPal

PayPal processes online donations through its own payment systems. Born Again Daily does not receive your PayPal password or full card number through the donation button. PayPal’s own privacy terms apply to information you provide during checkout.

Bible Study Center

Public Bible searches, topic lookups, concordance queries, and other study tools are designed to work without requiring a user account. Normal server logs may record technical request information such as IP address, browser details, requested page, and timestamp for security and operations.

Member Study Center

If you create a free member account, Born Again Daily stores the email address and display name you provide, a one-way password hash, account timestamps, lesson-completion records, quiz/test results, certificate records, reading-plan progress, study streak/check-in dates, Scripture-memory records, Bible bookmarks, saved-page library items, 7-day Focus Path progress and private reflections, weekly-review reflections, a saved Study Path preference, and any private study notes or private prayer-journal entries you choose to save. Passwords are not stored in readable form. Member-study information is used to provide account access, restore progress, schedule memory reviews, maintain personal bookmarks and prayer notes, score assessments, issue and verify completion certificates, and secure the service. Private prayer-journal entries and Bible notebook notes are not published as public prayer requests. Invite-only study-group names, descriptions, and posts are automatically screened under the community safety and no-politics rules. Creating a member account does not automatically subscribe you to the Daily Devotional email list. Public certificate-verification pages show the member display name, course title, completion date, score, and verification code for certificates the member has earned.

AI Bible Research

When AI Bible Research is enabled and you submit a Bible or Christian question, Born Again Daily first assembles a local evidence packet from its Bible, original-language, translation-history, Christian-books, and historical-reference databases. The question and that evidence packet are then sent server-side to OpenAI to generate the research explanation. The OpenAI API key is never sent to your browser. Born Again Daily uses a one-way hash of the requesting IP address locally for rate limiting and abuse controls; the application does not intentionally include your IP address, email address, subscriber record, or prayer requests in the AI prompt. Anonymous research is stateless and may use a local answer cache. Signed-in members may use private AI conversation threads; those stored questions and answers are associated with the member account so follow-up questions can use recent conversational context. Conversation history is context, not biblical evidence, and the site's local Bible evidence remains controlling for quotations, language data, and historical-source claims. OpenAI's service terms and privacy practices also apply to data processed by its API.

Optional member SMS

Member SMS is a separate, optional communications program. It is not enabled by joining the site, creating a member account, or entering a phone number. Members may choose Verse of the Day, Thought of the Day, Today’s Christian Walk, or any combination. They must explicitly consent to recurring automated Born Again Daily text messages and confirm the mobile number before messages activate. Frequency depends on the selected options. Born Again Daily records the phone number, selected message types, consent version and time, confirmation state, STOP/START events, and delivery/transport records needed to honor the request and prove consent. Replying STOP or using the member SMS settings stops future recurring texts; HELP returns support information. Message/data rates may apply.

Security and retention

Reasonable technical controls are used to protect the website and mail systems, but no internet service can promise perfect security. Operational records may be retained where needed for consent documentation, unsubscribe enforcement, abuse prevention, backups, and service troubleshooting.
