And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and [there] abode.Acts 16:19And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew [them] into the marketplace unto the rulers,Acts 16:20And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,Acts 16:21And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.Acts 16:22And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat [them].Acts 16:23And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast [them] into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:Acts 16:24Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.Acts 16:25And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.Acts 16:26And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.Acts 16:27And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.Acts 16:28But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.Acts 16:29Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,Acts 16:30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?Acts 16:31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.Acts 16:32And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.Acts 16:33And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed [their] stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.Acts 16:34And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.Acts 16:35And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.Acts 16:36And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.Acts 16:37But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast [us] into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.Acts 16:38And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.Acts 16:39And they came and besought them, and brought [them] out, and desired [them] to depart out of the city.Acts 16:40And they went out of the prison, and entered into [the house of] Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.Acts 21:27And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,Acts 21:28Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all [men] every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.Acts 21:29(For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)Acts 21:30And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.Acts 21:31And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.Acts 21:32Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.Acts 21:33Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded [him] to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.Acts 21:34And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.Acts 21:35And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.Acts 21:36For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.Acts 21:37And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?Acts 21:38Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?Acts 21:39But Paul said, I am a man [which am] a Jew of Tarsus, [a city] in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.Acts 21:40And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto [them] in the Hebrew tongue, saying,Acts 22:24The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.Acts 24:10Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:Acts 24:23And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let [him] have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.Acts 25:8While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.Acts 25:16To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him.Acts 26:1Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself.
