1 Samuel 7:8And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.1 Samuel 7:9And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered [it for] a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.1 Samuel 7:10And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.1 Samuel 7:11And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until [they came] under Bethcar.1 Samuel 7:12Then Samuel took a stone, and set [it] between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.1 Samuel 7:13So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.1 Samuel 7:14And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.1 Samuel 8:7And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.1 Samuel 8:8According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.1 Samuel 8:9Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.1 Samuel 8:10And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.1 Samuel 8:11And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint [them] for himself, for his chariots, and [to be] his horsemen; and [some] shall run before his chariots.1 Samuel 8:12And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and [will set them] to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.1 Samuel 8:13And he will take your daughters [to be] confectionaries, and [to be] cooks, and [to be] bakers.1 Samuel 8:14And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, [even] the best [of them], and give [them] to his servants.1 Samuel 8:15And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.1 Samuel 8:16And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put [them] to his work.1 Samuel 8:17He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.1 Samuel 8:18And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.1 Samuel 8:19Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;1 Samuel 8:20That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.1 Samuel 8:21And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD.1 Samuel 8:22And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.1 Samuel 9:10Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God [was].1 Samuel 11:12And the people said unto Samuel, Who [is] he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.1 Samuel 11:13And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the LORD hath wrought salvation in Israel.1 Samuel 11:14Then said Samuel to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.1 Samuel 11:15And all the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before the LORD in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before the LORD; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.1 Samuel 12:1And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.1 Samuel 12:2And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons [are] with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day.1 Samuel 12:3Behold, here I [am]: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received [any] bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.1 Samuel 12:4And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man’s hand.1 Samuel 12:5And he said unto them, The LORD [is] witness against you, and his anointed [is] witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, [He is] witness.1 Samuel 13:11And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and [that] thou camest not within the days appointed, and [that] the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;1 Samuel 13:12Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.1 Samuel 13:13And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.1 Samuel 13:14But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him [to be] captain over his people, because thou hast not kept [that] which the LORD commanded thee.1 Samuel 13:15And Samuel arose, and gat him up from Gilgal unto Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people [that were] present with him, about six hundred men.1 Samuel 19:18So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.1 Samuel 25:1And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And his servants said to him, Behold, [there is] a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.1 Samuel 28:8And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me [him] up, whom I shall name unto thee.1 Samuel 28:9And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?1 Samuel 28:10And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, [As] the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.1 Samuel 28:11Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.1 Samuel 28:12And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou [art] Saul.1 Samuel 28:13And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
