2 Chronicles 20:10And now, here are the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, whom You did not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt. You have also killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you.2 Chronicles 21:14So behold, the LORD is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives, and all your possessions with a serious blow.2 Chronicles 21:15And day after day you yourself will suffer from a severe illness, a disease of your bowels, until it causes your bowels to come out.’”2 Chronicles 21:16Then the LORD stirred against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and Arabs who lived near the Cushites.2 Chronicles 21:17So they went to war against Judah, invaded it, and carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace, along with his sons and wives; not a son was left to him except Jehoahaz, his youngest.2 Chronicles 21:18After all this, the LORD afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels.2 Chronicles 21:19This continued day after day until two full years had passed. Finally, his intestines came out because of his disease, and he died in severe pain. Because of our iniquities, we and our kings and priests have been delivered into the hands of the kings of the earth and subjected to the sword and to captivity, to pillage and humiliation, as we are this day.Ezra 9:8But now, for a brief moment, grace has come from the LORD our God to preserve for us a remnant and to give us a stake in His holy place. Even in our bondage, our God has given us new life and light to our eyes.Ezra 9:9Though we are slaves, our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but He has extended to us grace in the sight of the kings of Persia, giving us new life to rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, and giving us a wall of protection in Judah and Jerusalem.Ezra 9:10And now, our God, what can we say after this? For we have forsaken the commandmentsEzra 9:11that You gave through Your servants the prophets, saying: ‘The land that you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the impurity of its peoples and the abominations with which they have filled it from end to end.Ezra 9:12Now, therefore, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters for your sons. Never seek their peace or prosperity, so that you may be strong and may eat the good things of the land, leaving it as an inheritance to your sons forever.’Ezra 9:13After all that has come upon us because of our evil deeds and our great guilt (though You, our God, have punished us less than our iniquities deserve and have given us such a remnant as this),Ezra 9:14shall we again break Your commandments and intermarry with the peoples who commit these abominations? Would You not become so angry with us as to wipe us out, leaving no remnant or survivor?Ezra 9:15O LORD, God of Israel, You are righteous! For we remain this day as a remnant. Here we are before You in our guilt, though because of it no one can stand before You.”Nehemiah 4:4Hear us, O God, for we are despised. They sinned against Your ordinances, by which a man will live if he practices them. They turned a stubborn shoulder; they stiffened their necks and would not obey.Nehemiah 9:32So now, our God, the great and mighty and awesome God who keeps His gracious covenant, do not view lightly all the hardship that has come upon us, and upon our kings and leaders, our priests and prophets, our ancestors and all Your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until today.Nehemiah 9:33You are just in all that has befallen us, because You have acted faithfully, while we have acted wickedly.Esther 4:16“Go and assemble all the Jews who can be found in Susa, and fast for me. May it not appear among the days of the year; may it never be entered in any of the months.Job 3:7Behold, may that night be barren; may no joyful voice come into it.Job 3:8May it be cursed by those who curse the day—those prepared to rouse Leviathan.Job 3:9May its morning stars grow dark; may it wait in vain for daylight; may it not see the breaking of dawn.Job 3:10For that night did not shut the doors of the womb to hide the sorrow from my eyes.
