Daniel 3:4Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “O people of every nation and language, this is what you are commanded:Daniel 3:5As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the golden statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.Daniel 3:6And whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into the blazing fiery furnace.”Daniel 3:7Therefore, as soon as all the people heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, and all kinds of music, the people of every nation and language would fall down and worship the golden statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.Daniel 3:8At this time some astrologers came forward and maliciously accused the Jews,Daniel 3:9saying to King Nebuchadnezzar, “O king, may you live forever!Daniel 3:10You, O king, have issued a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and all kinds of music must fall down and worship the golden statue,Daniel 3:11and that whoever does not fall down and worship will be thrown into the blazing fiery furnace.Daniel 3:12But there are some Jews you have appointed to manage the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—who have ignored you, O king, and have refused to serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”Daniel 3:13Then Nebuchadnezzar, furious with rage, summoned Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king,Daniel 3:14and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, is it true that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden statue I have set up?Daniel 3:15Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the statue I have made, very good. But if you refuse to worship, you will be thrown at once into the blazing fiery furnace. Then what god will be able to deliver you from my hands?”Daniel 3:16Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.Daniel 3:17If the God whom we serve exists, then He is able to deliver us from the blazing fiery furnace and from your hand, O king.Daniel 3:18But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”Daniel 3:19At this, Nebuchadnezzar was filled with rage, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He gave orders to heat the furnace seven times hotter than usual,Daniel 3:20and he commanded some mighty men of valor in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and throw them into the blazing fiery furnace.Daniel 3:21So they were tied up, wearing robes, trousers, turbans, and other clothes, and they were thrown into the blazing fiery furnace.Daniel 3:22The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the fiery flames killed the men who carried up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.Daniel 3:23And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, firmly bound, fell into the blazing fiery furnace.Daniel 5:22But you his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, even though you knew all this.Daniel 6:1Now it pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom,Daniel 6:2and over them three administrators, including Daniel, to whom these satraps were accountable so that the king would not suffer loss.Daniel 6:3Soon, by his extraordinary spirit, Daniel distinguished himself among the administrators and satraps. So the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.Daniel 6:4Thus the administrators and satraps sought a charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no charge or corruption, because he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him.Daniel 6:5Finally these men said, “We will never find any charge against this Daniel unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.”Daniel 6:6So the administrators and satraps went together to the king and said, “O King Darius, may you live forever!Daniel 6:7All the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers, and governors have agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce a decree that for thirty days anyone who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions.Daniel 6:8Therefore, O king, establish the decree and sign the document so that it cannot be changed—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.”Daniel 6:9Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.Hosea 5:10The princes of Judah are like those who move boundary stones; I will pour out My fury upon them like water.Hosea 7:3They delight the king with their evil, and the princes with their lies.Hosea 10:7Samaria will be carried off with her king like a twig on the surface of the water.Amos 3:10“For they know not how to do right,” declares the LORD. “They store up violence and destruction in their citadels.”Amos 3:11Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: “An enemy will surround the land; he will pull down your strongholds and plunder your citadels.”Amos 4:1Hear this word, you cows of Bashan on Mount Samaria, you women who oppress the poor and crush the needy, who say to your husbands, “Bring us more to drink.”Amos 4:2The Lord GOD has sworn by His holiness: “Behold, the days are coming when you will be taken away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.Amos 5:11Therefore, because you trample on the poor and exact from him a tax of grain, you will never live in the stone houses you have built; you will never drink the wine from the lush vineyards you have planted.Amos 5:12For I know that your transgressions are many and your sins are numerous. You oppress the righteous by taking bribes; you deprive the poor of justice in the gate.Amos 6:12“Do horses gallop on the cliffs? Does one plow the sea with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood—Amos 6:13you who rejoice in Lo-debar and say, ‘Did we not take Karnaim by our own strength?’Jonah 3:6When word reached the king of Nineveh, he got up from his throne, took off his royal robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.Jonah 3:7Then he issued a proclamation in Nineveh: “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let no man or beast, herd or flock, taste anything at all. They must not eat or drink.Jonah 3:8Furthermore, let both man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and have everyone call out earnestly to God. Let each one turn from his evil ways and from the violence in his hands.Jonah 3:9Who knows? God may turn and relent; He may turn from His fierce anger, so that we will not perish.”Micah 3:1Then I said: “Hear now, O leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Should you not know justice?Micah 3:2You hate good and love evil. You tear the skin from my people and strip the flesh from their bones.Micah 3:3You eat the flesh of my people after stripping off their skin and breaking their bones. You chop them up like flesh for the cooking pot, like meat in a cauldron.”Micah 3:9Now hear this, O leaders of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who despise justice and pervert all that is right,Micah 3:10who build Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with iniquity.Micah 3:11Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice divination for money. Yet they lean upon the LORD, saying, “Is not the LORD among us? No disaster can come upon us.”Micah 7:3Both hands are skilled at evil; the prince and the judge demand a bribe. When the powerful utters his evil desire, they all conspire together.Micah 7:4The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is sharper than a hedge of thorns. The day for your watchmen has come, the day of your visitation. Now is the time of their confusion.Habakkuk 1:4Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.Habakkuk 2:5and wealth indeed betrays him. He is an arrogant man never at rest. He enlarges his appetite like Sheol, and like Death, he is never satisfied. He gathers all the nations to himself and collects all the peoples as his own.Habakkuk 2:6Will not all of these take up a taunt against him, speaking with mockery and derision: ‘Woe to him who amasses what is not his and makes himself rich with many loans! How long will this go on?’Habakkuk 2:7Will not your creditors suddenly arise and those who disturb you awaken? Then you will become their prey.Habakkuk 2:8Because you have plundered many nations, the remnant of the people will plunder you—because of your bloodshed against man and your violence against the land, the city, and all their dwellers.Habakkuk 2:9Woe to him who builds his house by unjust gain, to place his nest on high and escape the hand of disaster!Habakkuk 2:10You have plotted shame for your house by cutting off many peoples and forfeiting your life.
