1 Kings 11:1Now king Solomon loved many foreign women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites;1 Kings 11:2of the nations concerning which Jehovah said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you; for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.1 Kings 11:3And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.1 Kings 11:4For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father.1 Kings 11:5For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.1 Kings 11:6And Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and went not fully after Jehovah, as did David his father.1 Kings 11:7Then did Solomon build a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, in the mount that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.1 Kings 11:8And so did he for all his foreign wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.1 Kings 11:9And Jehovah was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from Jehovah, the God of Israel, who had appeared unto him twice,1 Kings 11:10and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which Jehovah commanded.1 Kings 11:11Wherefore Jehovah said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.1 Kings 11:12Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it, for David thy father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.1 Kings 11:13Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to thy son, for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.1 Kings 12:4Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.1 Kings 12:8But he forsook the counsel of the old men which they had given him, and took counsel with the young men that were grown up with him, that stood before him.1 Kings 12:9And he said unto them, What counsel give ye, that we may return answer to this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke that thy father did put upon us lighter?1 Kings 12:10And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou say unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou speak unto them, My little finger is thicker than my father’s loins.1 Kings 12:11And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.1 Kings 12:26And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now will the kingdom return to the house of David:1 Kings 12:27if this people go up to offer sacrifices in the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem, then will the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah; and they will kill me, and return to Rehoboam king of Judah.1 Kings 12:28Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold; and he said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.1 Kings 12:29And he set the one in Beth-el, and the other put he in Dan.1 Kings 12:30And this thing became a sin; for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.1 Kings 12:31And he made houses of high places, and made priests from among all the people, that were not of the sons of Levi.1 Kings 12:32And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he went up unto the altar; so did he in Beth-el, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Beth-el the priests of the high places that he had made.1 Kings 12:33And he went up unto the altar which he had made in Beth-el on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart: and he ordained a feast for the children of Israel, and went up unto the altar, to burn incense.1 Kings 13:1And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of Jehovah unto Beth-el: and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.1 Kings 13:2And he cried against the altar by the word of Jehovah, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith Jehovah: Behold, a son shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he sacrifice the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall they burn upon thee.1 Kings 13:3And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which Jehovah hath spoken: Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.1 Kings 13:4And it came to pass, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Beth-el, that Jeroboam put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to him.1 Kings 13:5The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of Jehovah.1 Kings 13:33After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again from among all the people priests of the high places: whosoever would, he consecrated him, that there might be priests of the high places.1 Kings 14:16And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he hath sinned, and wherewith he hath made Israel to sin.1 Kings 15:3And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father.1 Kings 15:11And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, as did David his father.1 Kings 15:12And he put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.1 Kings 15:13And also Maacah his mother he removed from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.1 Kings 15:14But the high places were not taken away: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with Jehovah all his days.1 Kings 15:15And he brought into the house of Jehovah the things that his father had dedicated, and the things that himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.1 Kings 15:26And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.1 Kings 15:33In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, and reigned twenty and four years.1 Kings 15:34And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.1 Kings 16:19for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.1 Kings 16:25And Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and dealt wickedly above all that were before him.1 Kings 16:26For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.1 Kings 16:27Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?1 Kings 16:28So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.1 Kings 16:29And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.1 Kings 16:30And Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah above all that were before him.1 Kings 16:31And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.1 Kings 16:32And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.1 Kings 16:33And Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.1 Kings 21:21Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will utterly sweep thee away and will cut off from Ahab every man-child, and him that is shut up and him that is left at large in Israel:1 Kings 21:22and I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and hast made Israel to sin.1 Kings 21:23And of Jezebel also spake Jehovah, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.1 Kings 21:24Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the birds of the heavens eat.1 Kings 21:25(But there was none like unto Ahab, who did sell himself to do that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.1 Kings 21:26And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom Jehovah cast out before the children of Israel.)1 Kings 22:38And they washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood (now the harlots washed themselves there); according unto the word of Jehovah which he spake.1 Kings 22:41And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
