Luke 8:9Then His disciples asked Him what this parable meant.Luke 8:10He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’Luke 8:11Now this is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.Luke 8:12The seeds along the path are those who hear, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.Luke 8:13The seeds on rocky ground are those who hear the word and receive it with joy, but they have no root. They believe for a season, but in the time of testing, they fall away.Luke 8:14The seeds that fell among the thorns are those who hear, but as they go on their way, they are choked by the worries, riches, and pleasures of this life, and their fruit does not mature.Luke 8:15But the seeds on good soil are those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, cling to it, and by persevering produce a crop.Luke 8:35So the people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man whom the demons had left, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.Luke 8:36Meanwhile, those who had seen it reported how the demon-possessed man had been healed.Luke 8:37Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to depart from them, because great fear had taken hold of them. I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.John 4:36Already the reaper draws his wages and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.John 4:37For in this case the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.John 4:38I sent you to reap what you have not worked for; others have done the hard work, and now you have taken up their labor.”John 4:39Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”John 4:40So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.John 4:41And many more believed because of His message.John 4:42They said to the woman, “We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world.”John 9:8At this, his neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging began to ask, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?”John 9:9Some claimed that he was, but others said, “No, he just looks like him.” But the man kept saying, “I am the one.”John 9:10“How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.John 9:11He answered, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and anointed my eyes, and He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed and received my sight.”John 9:12“Where is He?” they asked. “I do not know,” he answered.John 9:13They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind.John 9:14Now the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened his eyes was a Sabbath.John 9:15So the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. The man answered, “He put mud on my eyes, and I washed, and now I can see.”John 9:16Because of this, some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others said, “How can a sinful man perform such signs?” And there was division among them.John 9:17So once again they asked the man who had been blind, “What do you say about Him, since it was your eyes He opened?” “He is a prophet,” the man replied.John 9:18The Jews still did not believe that the man had been blind and had received his sight until they summoned his parentsJohn 9:19and asked, “Is this your son, the one you say was born blind? So how is it that he can now see?”John 9:20His parents answered, “We know he is our son, and we know he was born blind.John 9:21But how he can now see or who opened his eyes, we do not know. Ask him. He is old enough to speak for himself.”John 9:22His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews. For the Jews had already determined that anyone who confessed Jesus as the Christ would be put out of the synagogue.John 9:23That was why his parents said, “He is old enough. Ask him.”John 9:24So a second time they called for the man who had been blind and said, “Give glory to God! We know that this man is a sinner.”John 9:25He answered, “Whether He is a sinner I do not know. There is one thing I do know: I was blind, but now I see!”John 9:26“What did He do to you?” they asked. “How did He open your eyes?”John 9:27He replied, “I already told you, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?”John 9:28Then they heaped insults on him and said, “You are His disciple; we are disciples of Moses.John 9:29We know that God spoke to Moses, but we do not know where this man is from.”John 9:30“That is remarkable indeed!” the man said. “You do not know where He is from, and yet He opened my eyes.
