He has become great. He has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male servants and female servants, and camels and donkeys.Genesis 24:36Sarah, my master’s wife, bore a son to my master when she was old. He has given all that he has to him.Genesis 24:37My master made me swear, saying, ‘You shall not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live,Genesis 24:38but you shall go to my father’s house, and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son.’Genesis 24:39I asked my master, ‘What if the woman will not follow me?’Genesis 24:40He said to me, ‘Yahweh, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way. You shall take a wife for my son of my relatives, and of my father’s house.Genesis 24:41Then will you be clear from my oath, when you come to my relatives. If they don’t give her to you, you shall be clear from my oath.’Genesis 24:42I came this day to the spring, and said, ‘Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, if now you do prosper my way which I go—Genesis 24:43behold, I am standing by this spring of water. Let it happen, that the maiden who comes out to draw, to whom I will say, “Please give me a little water from your pitcher to drink,”Genesis 24:44and she will tell me, “Drink, and I will also draw for your camels,”—let her be the woman whom Yahweh has appointed for my master’s son.’Genesis 24:45Before I had finished speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. She went down to the spring, and drew. I said to her, ‘Please let me drink.’Genesis 24:46She hurried and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink.’ So I drank, and she also gave the camels a drink.Genesis 24:47I asked her, and said, ‘Whose daughter are you?’ She said, ‘The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor’s son, whom Milcah bore to him.’ I put the ring on her nose, and the bracelets on her hands.Genesis 24:48I bowed my head, and worshiped Yahweh, and blessed Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master’s brother’s daughter for his son.Genesis 24:49Now if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me. If not, tell me, that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.”Genesis 24:50Then Laban and Bethuel answered, “The thing proceeds from Yahweh. We can’t speak to you bad or good.Genesis 24:51Behold, Rebekah is before you. I will seem to him as a deceiver, and I would bring a curse on myself, and not a blessing.”Genesis 27:13His mother said to him, “Let your curse be on me, my son. Only obey my voice, and go get them for me.”Genesis 27:14He went, and got them, and brought them to his mother. His mother made savory food, such as his father loved.Genesis 27:15Rebekah took the good clothes of Esau, her elder son, which were with her in the house, and put them on Jacob, her younger son.Genesis 27:16She put the skins of the young goats on his hands, and on the smooth of his neck.Genesis 27:17She gave the savory food and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.Genesis 27:18He came to his father, and said, “My father?” He said, “Here I am. Who are you, my son?”Genesis 27:19Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn. I have done what you asked me to do. Please arise, sit and eat of my venison, that your soul may bless me.”Genesis 27:20Isaac said to his son, “How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son?” He said, “Because Yahweh your God gave me success.”Genesis 27:21Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.”Genesis 27:22Jacob went near to Isaac his father. He felt him, and said, “The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.”Genesis 27:23He didn’t recognize him, because his hands were hairy, like his brother, Esau’s hands. So he blessed him.Genesis 27:24He said, “Are you really my son Esau?” He said, “I am.”Genesis 27:25He said, “Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son’s venison, that my soul may bless you.” He brought it near to him, and he ate. He brought him wine, and he drank.Genesis 27:26His father Isaac said to him, “Come near now, and kiss me, my son.”Genesis 27:27He came near, and kissed him. He smelled the smell of his clothing, and blessed him, and said, “Behold, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which Yahweh has blessed.Genesis 27:28God give you of the dew of the sky, of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and new wine.Genesis 27:29Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers. Let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you. Blessed be everyone who blesses you.”Genesis 29:15Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my brother, should you therefore serve me for nothing? He said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.”Genesis 29:19Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you, than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”Genesis 29:20Jacob served seven years for Rachel. They seemed to him but a few days, for the love he had for her.Genesis 29:21Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in to her.”
