Genesis 21:22It happened at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his army spoke to Abraham, saying, “God is with you in all that you do.Genesis 21:23Now, therefore, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son. Now make a covenant with us.”’Joshua 9:12This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we went out to go to you; but now, behold, it is dry, and has become moldy.Joshua 9:13These wineskins, which we filled, were new; and behold, they are torn. These our garments and our shoes have become old because of the very long journey.”Joshua 9:14The men sampled their provisions, and didn’t ask counsel from the mouth of Yahweh.Joshua 9:15Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them, to let them live. In the same way, he sent to the king of Moab; but he would not: and Israel stayed in Kadesh.Judges 11:18Then they went through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and they encamped on the other side of the Arnon; but they didn’t come within the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.Judges 11:19Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said to him, ‘Please let us pass through your land to my place.’Judges 11:20But Sihon didn’t trust Israel to pass through his border; but Sihon gathered all his people together, and encamped in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.Judges 11:21Yahweh, the God of Israel, delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they struck them: so Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.Judges 11:22They possessed all the border of the Amorites, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and from the wilderness even to the Jordan.Judges 11:23So now Yahweh, the God of Israel, has dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and should you possess them?Judges 11:24Won’t you possess that which Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whoever Yahweh our God has dispossessed from before us, them will we possess.Judges 11:25Now are you anything better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them?Judges 11:26While Israel lived in Heshbon and its towns, and in Aroer and its towns, and in all the cities that are along by the side of the Arnon, three hundred years; why didn’t you recover them within that time?Judges 11:27I therefore have not sinned against you, but you do me wrong to war against me. Yahweh, the Judge, be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.”Judges 11:28However the king of the children of Ammon didn’t listen to the words of Jephthah which he sent him.1 Samuel 25:23When Abigail saw David, she hurried, and alighted from her donkey, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground.1 Samuel 25:24She fell at his feet, and said, “On me, my lord, on me be the iniquity; and please let your handmaid speak in your ears.
