Genesis 18:23Abraham stepped forward and said, “Will You really sweep away the righteous with the wicked?Genesis 18:24What if there are fifty righteous ones in the city? Will You really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous ones who are there?Genesis 18:25Far be it from You to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Will not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?”Genesis 18:26So the LORD replied, “If I find fifty righteous ones within the city of Sodom, on their account I will spare the whole place.”Genesis 18:27Then Abraham answered, “Now that I have ventured to speak to the Lord—though I am but dust and ashes—Genesis 18:28suppose the fifty righteous ones lack five. Suppose thirty are found there?” He replied, “If I find thirty there, I will not do it.”Genesis 18:31And Abraham said, “Now that I have ventured to speak to the Lord, suppose twenty are found there?” He answered, “On account of the twenty, I will not destroy it.”Genesis 18:32Finally, Abraham said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak once more. Suppose ten are found there?” And He answered, “On account of the ten, I will not destroy it.”Genesis 19:22Hurry! Now pray for me.”Exodus 8:30Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD,Exodus 8:31and the LORD did as Moses requested. He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh and his officials and his people; not one fly remained.Exodus 8:32But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time as well, and he would not let the people go.Exodus 9:27Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. “This time I have sinned,” he said. “The LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.Exodus 9:28Pray to the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go; you do not need to stay any longer.”Exodus 9:29Moses said to him, “When I have left the city, I will spread out my hands to the LORD. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth is the LORD’s.Exodus 9:30But as for you and your officials, I know that you still do not fear the LORD our God.”Exodus 9:31(Now the flax and barley were destroyed, since the barley was ripe and the flax was in bloom;Exodus 9:32but the wheat and spelt were not destroyed, because they are late crops.)Exodus 9:33Then Moses departed from Pharaoh, went out of the city, and spread out his hands to the LORD. The thunder and hail ceased, and the rain no longer poured down on the land.Exodus 9:34When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder had ceased, he sinned again and hardened his heart—he and his officials.Exodus 9:35So Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not let the Israelites go, just as the LORD had said through Moses.Exodus 10:16Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.Exodus 10:17Now please forgive my sin once more and appeal to the LORD your God, that He may remove this death from me.”Exodus 10:18So Moses left Pharaoh’s presence and appealed to the LORD.Exodus 10:19And the LORD changed the wind to a very strong west wind that carried off the locusts and blew them into the Red Sea. Not a single locust remained anywhere in Egypt.Exodus 10:20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let the Israelites go.Exodus 10:21Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that darkness may spread over the land of Egypt—a palpable darkness.”Exodus 10:22So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and total darkness covered all the land of Egypt for three days.Exodus 10:23No one could see anyone else, and for three days no one left his place. Yet all the Israelites had light in their dwellings.Exodus 12:32Take your flocks and herds as well, just as you have said, and depart! And bless me also.”Exodus 17:11As long as Moses held up his hands, Israel prevailed; but when he lowered them, Amalek prevailed.
