Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.Isaiah 5:27None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the belt of their waist be untied, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:Isaiah 5:28whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent. Their horses’ hoofs will be like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.Isaiah 5:29Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they shall roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.Isaiah 5:30They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. The light is darkened in its clouds.Isaiah 6:1In the year that king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple.Isaiah 7:1It happened in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.Isaiah 7:2It was told the house of David, saying, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.Isaiah 7:3Then Yahweh said to Isaiah, “Go out now to meet Ahaz, you, and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the highway of the fuller’s field.Isaiah 7:4Tell him, ‘Be careful, and keep calm. Don’t be afraid, neither let your heart be faint because of these two tails of smoking torches, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.Isaiah 7:5Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have plotted evil against you, saying,Isaiah 7:6“Let’s go up against Judah, and tear it apart, and let’s divide it among ourselves, and set up a king in its midst, even the son of Tabeel.”Isaiah 7:7This is what the Lord Yahweh says: “It shall not stand, neither shall it happen.”Isaiah 7:8For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within sixty-five years Ephraim shall be broken in pieces, so that it shall not be a people;Isaiah 7:9and the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established.’”Isaiah 7:10Yahweh spoke again to Ahaz, saying,Isaiah 7:11“Ask a sign of Yahweh your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.”Isaiah 7:12But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, neither will I tempt Yahweh.”Isaiah 7:13He said, “Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?Isaiah 7:14Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.Isaiah 7:15He shall eat butter and honey when he knows to refuse the evil, and choose the good.Isaiah 7:16For before the child knows to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land whose two kings you abhor shall be forsaken.Isaiah 7:17Yahweh will bring on you, on your people, and on your father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.Isaiah 7:18It will happen in that day that Yahweh will whistle for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.Isaiah 7:19They shall come, and shall all rest in the desolate valleys, in the clefts of the rocks, on all thorn hedges, and on all pastures.Isaiah 7:20In that day the Lord will shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also consume the beard.Isaiah 7:21It shall happen in that day that a man shall keep alive a young cow, and two sheep;Isaiah 7:22and it shall happen, that because of the abundance of milk which they shall give he shall eat butter: for everyone will eat butter and honey that is left in the midst of the land.Isaiah 7:23It will happen in that day that every place where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silver shekels, shall be for briers and thorns.Isaiah 7:24People will go there with arrows and with bow, because all the land will be briers and thorns.Isaiah 7:25All the hills that were cultivated with the hoe, you shall not come there for fear of briers and thorns; but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.”Isaiah 9:1But there shall be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time, he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time he has made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.Isaiah 9:2The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who lived in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.Isaiah 9:3You have multiplied the nation. You have increased their joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.Isaiah 9:4For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as in the day of Midian.Isaiah 9:5For all the armor of the armed man in the noisy battle, and the garments rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.Isaiah 9:6For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Isaiah 9:7Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.Isaiah 9:8The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it falls on Israel.Isaiah 9:9All the people will know, including Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in pride and in arrogance of heart,Isaiah 9:10“The bricks have fallen, but we will build with cut stone. The sycamore fig trees have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.”Isaiah 9:11Therefore Yahweh will set up on high against him the adversaries of Rezin, and will stir up his enemies,Isaiah 9:12The Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they will devour Israel with open mouth. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.Isaiah 9:13Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought Yahweh of Armies.Isaiah 9:14Therefore Yahweh will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm branch and reed, in one day.Isaiah 9:15The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.Isaiah 9:16For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.Isaiah 9:17Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.Isaiah 9:18For wickedness burns like a fire. It devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.Isaiah 9:19Through the wrath of Yahweh of Armies, the land is burnt up; and the people are the fuel for the fire. No one spares his brother.Isaiah 9:20One will devour on the right hand, and be hungry; and he will eat on the left hand, and they will not be satisfied. Everyone will eat the flesh of his own arm:Isaiah 9:21Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.Isaiah 10:1Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive decrees;
