Matthew 9:18While Jesus was saying these things, a synagogue leader came and knelt before Him. “My daughter has just died,” he said. “But come and place Your hand on her, and she will live.”Matthew 9:23When Jesus entered the house of the synagogue leader, He saw the flute players and the noisy crowd.Matthew 9:24“Go away,” He told them. “The girl is not dead, but asleep.” And they laughed at Him.Matthew 9:25After the crowd had been put outside, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.Matthew 9:26And the news about this spread throughout that region.Mark 5:22A synagogue leader named Jairus arrived, and seeing Jesus, he fell at His feetMark 5:23and pleaded with Him urgently, “My little daughter is near death. Please come and place Your hands on her, so that she will be healed and live.”Mark 5:24So Jesus went with him, and a large crowd followed and pressed around Him.Mark 5:25And a woman was there who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years.Mark 5:26She had borne much agony under the care of many physicians and had spent all she had, but to no avail. Instead, her condition had only grown worse.Mark 5:27When the woman heard about Jesus, she came up through the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak.Mark 5:28For she kept saying, “If only I touch His garments, I will be healed.”Mark 5:29Immediately her bleeding stopped, and she sensed in her body that she was healed of her affliction.Mark 5:30At once Jesus was aware that power had gone out from Him. Turning to the crowd, He asked, “Who touched My garments?”Mark 5:31His disciples answered, “You can see the crowd pressing in on You, and yet You ask, ‘Who touched Me?’”Mark 5:32But He kept looking around to see who had done this.Mark 5:33Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him trembling in fear, and she told Him the whole truth.Mark 5:34“Daughter,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be free of your affliction.”Mark 5:35While He was still speaking, messengers from the house of Jairus arrived and said, “Your daughter is dead; why bother the Teacher anymore?”Mark 5:36But Jesus overheard their conversation and said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”Mark 5:37And He did not allow anyone to accompany Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.Mark 5:38When they arrived at the house of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw the commotion and the people weeping and wailing loudly.Mark 5:39He went inside and asked, “Why all this commotion and weeping? The child is not dead, but asleep.”Mark 5:40And they laughed at Him. After He had put them all outside, He took the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and went in to see the child.Mark 5:41Taking her by the hand, Jesus said, “Talitha koum!” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”Mark 5:42Immediately the girl got up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). And at once they were utterly astounded.Mark 5:43Then Jesus gave strict orders that no one should know about this, and He told them to give her something to eat.Luke 8:41Just then a synagogue leader named Jairus came and fell at Jesus’ feet. He begged Him to come to his house,Luke 8:42because his only daughter, who was about twelve, was dying. As Jesus went with him, the crowds pressed around Him,Luke 8:43including a woman who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years. She had spent all her money on physicians, but no one was able to heal her.Luke 8:44She came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.Luke 8:45“Who touched Me?” Jesus asked. But they all denied it. “Master,” said Peter, “the people are crowding and pressing against You.”Luke 8:46But Jesus declared, “Someone touched Me, for I know that power has gone out from Me.”Luke 8:47Then the woman, seeing that she could not escape notice, came trembling and fell down before Him. In the presence of all the people, she explained why she had touched Him and how she had immediately been healed.Luke 8:48“Daughter,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”Luke 8:49While He was still speaking, someone arrived from the house of the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he told Jairus. “Do not bother the Teacher anymore.”Luke 8:50But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”Luke 8:51When He entered the house, He did not allow anyone to go in with Him except Peter, John, James, and the child’s father and mother.Luke 8:52Meanwhile, everyone was weeping and mourning for her. But Jesus said, “Stop weeping; she is not dead but asleep.”Luke 8:53And they laughed at Him, knowing that she was dead.Luke 8:54But Jesus took her by the hand and called out, “Child, get up!”Luke 8:55Her spirit returned, and at once she got up. And He directed that she be given something to eat.Luke 8:56Her parents were astounded, but Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.
