1 Samuel 18:22Then Saul ordered his servants, “Speak to David privately and tell him, ‘Behold, the king is pleased with you, and all his servants love you. Now therefore, become his son-in-law.’”1 Samuel 18:23But when Saul’s servants relayed these words to David, he replied, “Does it seem trivial in your sight to be the son-in-law of the king? I am a poor man and lightly esteemed.”1 Samuel 18:24And the servants told Saul what David had said.1 Samuel 18:25Saul replied, “Say to David, ‘The king desires no other dowry but a hundred Philistine foreskins as revenge on his enemies.’” But Saul intended to cause David’s death at the hands of the Philistines.1 Samuel 18:26When the servants reported these terms to David, he was pleased to become the king’s son-in-law. Before the wedding day arrived,1 Samuel 18:27David and his men went out and killed two hundred Philistines. He brought their foreskins and presented them as payment in full to become the king’s son-in-law. Then Saul gave his daughter Michal to David in marriage.1 Samuel 18:28When Saul realized that the LORD was with David and that his daughter Michal loved David,1 Samuel 19:9But as Saul was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, a spirit of distress from the LORD came upon him. While David was playing the harp,1 Samuel 19:10Saul tried to pin him to the wall with his spear. But David eluded him and the spear struck the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.1 Samuel 19:11Then Saul sent messengers to David’s house to watch him and kill him in the morning. But David’s wife Michal warned him, “If you do not run for your life tonight, tomorrow you will be dead!”1 Samuel 19:12So Michal lowered David from the window, and he ran away and escaped.1 Samuel 19:13Then Michal took a household idol and laid it in the bed, placed some goat hair on its head, and covered it with a garment.1 Samuel 19:14When Saul sent the messengers to seize David, Michal said, “He is ill.”1 Samuel 19:15But Saul sent the messengers back to see David and told them, “Bring him up to me in his bed so I can kill him.”1 Samuel 19:16And when the messengers entered, there was the idol in the bed with the goat hair on its head.1 Samuel 19:17And Saul said to Michal, “Why did you deceive me like this? You sent my enemy away, and he has escaped!” Michal replied, “He said to me, ‘Help me get away, or I will kill you!’”1 Samuel 25:44But Saul had given his daughter Michal, David’s wife, to Palti son of Laish, who was from Gallim.2 Samuel 3:13“Good,” replied David, “I will make a covenant with you. But there is one thing I require of you: Do not appear before me unless you bring Saul’s daughter Michal when you come to see me.”2 Samuel 3:14Then David sent messengers to say to Ish-bosheth son of Saul, “Give me back my wife, Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for a hundred Philistine foreskins.”2 Samuel 3:15So Ish-bosheth sent and took Michal from her husband Paltiel son of Laish.2 Samuel 3:16Her husband followed her, weeping all the way to Bahurim. Then Abner said to him, “Go back.” So he returned home.2 Samuel 6:16As the ark of the LORD was entering the City of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from a window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, and she despised him in her heart.2 Samuel 6:20When David returned home to bless his own household, Saul’s daughter Michal came out to meet him. “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today!” she said. “He has uncovered himself today in the sight of the maidservants of his subjects, like a vulgar person would do.”2 Samuel 6:21But David said to Michal, “I was dancing before the LORD, who chose me over your father and all his house when He appointed me ruler over the LORD’s people Israel. I will celebrate before the LORD,2 Samuel 6:22and I will humiliate and humble myself even more than this. Yet I will be honored by the maidservants of whom you have spoken.”2 Samuel 6:23And Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
