Exodus 4:12Now go! I will help you as you speak, and I will teach you what to say.”Exodus 28:1“Next, have your brother Aaron brought to you from among the Israelites, along with his sons Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar, to serve Me as priests.Leviticus 10:1Now Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense, and offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, contrary to His command.Leviticus 10:2So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died in the presence of the LORD.Leviticus 10:3Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD meant when He said: ‘To those who come near Me I will show My holiness, and in the sight of all the people I will reveal My glory.’” But Aaron remained silent.Leviticus 10:4Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, sons of Aaron’s uncle Uzziel, and said to them, “Come here; carry the bodies of your cousins outside the camp, away from the front of the sanctuary.”Leviticus 10:5So they came forward and carried them, still in their tunics, outside the camp, as Moses had directed.Leviticus 10:6Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, “Do not let your hair become disheveled and do not tear your garments, or else you will die, and the LORD will be angry with the whole congregation. But your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may mourn on account of the fire that the LORD has ignited.Leviticus 10:7You shall not go outside the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, or you will die, for the LORD’s anointing oil is on you.” So they did as Moses instructed.Leviticus 10:8Then the LORD said to Aaron,Leviticus 10:9“You and your sons are not to drink wine or strong drink when you enter the Tent of Meeting, or else you will die; this is a permanent statute for the generations to come.Leviticus 10:10You must distinguish between the holy and the common, between the clean and the unclean,Leviticus 10:11so that you may teach the Israelites all the statutes that the LORD has given them through Moses.”Leviticus 21:6They must be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God. Because they present to the LORD the food offerings, the food of their God, they must be holy.Leviticus 21:7A priest must not marry a woman defiled by prostitution or divorced by her husband, for the priest is holy to his God.Leviticus 21:8You are to regard him as holy, since he presents the food of your God. He is to marry a virgin from his own people,Leviticus 21:15so that he does not defile his offspring among his people, for I am the LORD who sanctifies him.”Numbers 3:5Then the LORD said to Moses,Numbers 3:6“Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him.Numbers 3:7They are to perform duties for him and for the whole congregation before the Tent of Meeting, attending to the service of the tabernacle.Numbers 3:8They shall take care of all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and fulfill obligations for the Israelites by attending to the service of the tabernacle.Numbers 3:9Assign the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they have been given exclusively to him from among the Israelites.Numbers 3:10So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons to carry out the duties of the priesthood; but any outsider who approaches the tabernacle must be put to death.”Numbers 3:11Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,Numbers 3:12“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel in place of every firstborn Israelite from the womb. The Levites belong to Me,Numbers 3:13for all the firstborn are Mine. On the day I struck down every firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They are Mine; I am the LORD.”Numbers 12:1Then Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses because of the Cushite woman he had married, for he had taken a Cushite wife.Numbers 12:2“Does the LORD speak only through Moses?” they said. “Does He not also speak through us?” And the LORD heard this.Numbers 12:3Now Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth.Numbers 12:4And suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three went out,Numbers 12:5and the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance to the Tent, and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When both of them had stepped forward,Numbers 12:6He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, will reveal Myself to him in a vision; I will speak to him in a dream.Numbers 12:7But this is not so with My servant Moses; he is faithful in all My house.Numbers 12:8I speak with him face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you unafraid to speak against My servant Moses?”Numbers 12:9So the anger of the LORD burned against them, and He departed.Numbers 12:10As the cloud lifted from above the Tent, suddenly Miriam became leprous, white as snow. Aaron turned toward her, saw that she was leprous,Numbers 12:11and said to Moses, “My lord, please do not hold against us this sin we have so foolishly committed.Numbers 12:12Please do not let her be like a stillborn infant whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.”Numbers 16:9Is it not enough for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel and brought you near to Himself to perform the work at the LORD’s tabernacle, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them?Numbers 16:10He has brought you near, you and all your fellow Levites, but you are seeking the priesthood as well.Numbers 18:1So the LORD said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house must bear the iniquity involving the sanctuary. And you and your sons alone must bear the iniquity involving your priesthood.Numbers 18:2But bring with you also your brothers from the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may join you and assist you and your sons before the Tent of the Testimony.Numbers 18:3And they shall attend to your duties and to all the duties of the Tent; but they must not come near to the furnishings of the sanctuary or the altar, or both they and you will die.Numbers 18:4They are to join you and attend to the duties of the Tent of Meeting, doing all the work at the Tent; but no outsider may come near you.Numbers 18:5And you shall attend to the duties of the sanctuary and of the altar, so that wrath may not fall on the Israelites again.Numbers 18:6Behold, I Myself have selected your fellow Levites from the Israelites as a gift to you, dedicated to the LORD to perform the service for the Tent of Meeting.Numbers 18:7But only you and your sons shall attend to your priesthood for everything concerning the altar and what is inside the veil, and you are to perform that service. I am giving you the work of the priesthood as a gift, but any outsider who comes near the sanctuary must be put to death.”Numbers 18:20Then the LORD said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the Israelites.Numbers 22:18But Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, “If Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything small or great to go beyond the command of the LORD my God.Numbers 22:37And he said to Balaam, “Did I not send you an urgent summons? Why did you not come to me? Am I really not able to reward you richly?”Numbers 22:38“See, I have come to you,” Balaam replied, “but can I say just anything? I must speak only the word that God puts in my mouth.”Numbers 23:8How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the LORD has not denounced?Numbers 23:12But Balaam replied, “Should I not speak exactly what the LORD puts in my mouth?”Numbers 24:12Balaam answered Balak, “Did I not already tell the messengers you sent me
