This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did.Acts 9:37It happened in those days that she fell sick, and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.Acts 9:38As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.Acts 9:39Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.Acts 9:40Peter put them all out, and kneeled down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.Acts 9:41He gave her his hand, and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.Acts 9:42And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.Acts 10:44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.Acts 10:45They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.Acts 10:46For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God. He struck Peter on the side, and woke him up, saying, “Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off from his hands.Acts 12:8The angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” He did so. He said to him, “Put on your cloak, and follow me.”Acts 12:9And he went out and followed him. He didn’t know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he saw a vision.Acts 12:10When they were past the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went out, and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.Acts 12:11When Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”Acts 13:8But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn aside the proconsul from the faith.Acts 13:9But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fastened his eyes on him,Acts 13:10and said, “Full of all deceit and all cunning, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?Acts 13:11Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season!” Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him.
