Daniel 6:22My God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, for I was found innocent in His sight, and I have done no wrong against you, O king.”Daniel 6:23The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den, and when Daniel was lifted out of the den, no wounds whatsoever were found on him, because he had trusted in his God.Daniel 6:24At the command of the king, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought and thrown into the den of lions—they and their children and wives. And he gave Him the name Jesus.Matthew 2:1After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,Matthew 2:2asking, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”Matthew 2:3When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.Matthew 2:4And when he had assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.Matthew 2:5“In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:Matthew 2:6‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of My people Israel.’”Matthew 2:7Then Herod called the Magi secretly and learned from them the exact time the star had appeared.Matthew 2:8And sending them to Bethlehem, he said: “Go and search carefully for the Child, and when you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.”Matthew 2:9After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stood over the place where the Child was.Matthew 2:13When the Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”Matthew 2:14So he got up, took the Child and His mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,Matthew 2:15where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”Matthew 2:16When Herod saw that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was filled with rage. Sending orders, he put to death all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the Magi.Matthew 2:17Then what was spoken through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:Matthew 2:18“A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”Matthew 2:19After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.Matthew 2:20“Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those seeking the Child’s life are now dead.”Matthew 2:21So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and went to the land of Israel.Matthew 2:22But when he learned that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,Matthew 2:23and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift prescribed by Moses, as a testimony to them.”Matthew 8:5When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came and pleaded with Him,Matthew 8:6“Lord, my servant lies at home, paralyzed and in terrible agony.”Matthew 8:7“I will go and heal him,” Jesus replied.Matthew 8:8The centurion answered, “Lord, I am not worthy to have You come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.Matthew 8:9For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one to go, and he goes, and another to come, and he comes. I tell my servant to do something, and he does it.”Matthew 8:10When Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those following Him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.Matthew 8:11I say to you that many will come from the east and the west to share the banquet with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.Matthew 8:12But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”Matthew 8:13Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! As you have believed, so will it be done for you.” And his servant was healed at that very hour.Matthew 8:14When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, He saw Peter’s mother-in-law sick in bed with a fever.Matthew 8:15So He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she got up and began to serve Him.Matthew 8:16When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Jesus, and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
