Genesis 15:17When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, behold, a smoking firepot and a flaming torch appeared and passed between the halves of the carcasses.Genesis 22:1Some time later God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he answered.Genesis 22:2“Take your son,” God said, “your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”Genesis 22:3So Abraham got up early the next morning, saddled his donkey, and took along two of his servants and his son Isaac. He split the wood for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had designated.Genesis 22:4On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.Genesis 22:5“Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told his servants. “The boy and I will go over there to worship, and then we will return to you.”Genesis 22:6Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac. He himself carried the fire and the sacrificial knife, and the two of them walked on together.Genesis 22:7Then Isaac said to his father Abraham, “My father!” “Here I am, my son,” he replied. “The fire and the wood are here,” said Isaac, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”Genesis 22:8Abraham answered, “God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two walked on together.Genesis 22:9When they arrived at the place God had designated, Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood. He bound his son Isaac and placed him on the altar, atop the wood.Genesis 22:10Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son.Genesis 22:11Just then the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Abraham, Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied.Genesis 22:12“Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him,” said the angel, “for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me.”Genesis 22:13Then Abraham looked up and saw behind him a ram in a thicket, caught by its horns. So he went and took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.Genesis 22:14And Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. So to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”Genesis 22:15And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time,Genesis 22:16saying, “By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your only son,Genesis 22:17I will surely bless you, and I will multiply your descendants like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will possess the gates of their enemies.Genesis 22:18And through your offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”Genesis 22:19Abraham went back to his servants, and they got up and set out together for Beersheba. And Abraham settled in Beersheba.Genesis 35:14So Jacob set up a pillar in the place where God had spoken with him—a stone marker—and he poured out a drink offering on it and anointed it with oil.Exodus 5:7“You shall no longer supply the people with straw for making bricks. For they are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’Exodus 5:9Make the work harder on the men so they will be occupied and pay no attention to these lies.”Exodus 5:10So the taskmasters and foremen of the people went out and said to them, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I am no longer giving you straw.Exodus 5:11Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it; but your workload will in no way be reduced.’”Exodus 5:12So the people scattered all over the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.Exodus 6:9Moses relayed this message to the Israelites, but on account of their broken spirit and cruel bondage, they did not listen to him.Exodus 6:10So the LORD said to Moses,Exodus 6:11“Go and tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his land.”Exodus 6:12But in the LORD’s presence Moses replied, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, then why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I am unskilled in speech?”Exodus 6:13Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge concerning both the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.Exodus 6:14These were the heads of their fathers’ houses: The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These were the clans of Reuben.Exodus 6:15The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman. These were the clans of Simeon.Exodus 6:16These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.Exodus 6:17The sons of Gershon were Libni and Shimei, by their clans.Exodus 6:18The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years.Exodus 6:19The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of the Levites according to their records.Exodus 6:20And Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.Exodus 6:21The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.Exodus 6:22The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.Exodus 6:23And Aaron married Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.Exodus 7:9“When Pharaoh tells you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ you are to say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a serpent.”Exodus 7:10So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD had commanded. Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent.Exodus 7:11But Pharaoh called the wise men and sorcerers and magicians of Egypt, and they also did the same things by their magic arts.Exodus 7:12Each one threw down his staff, and it became a serpent. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up the other staffs.Exodus 7:13Still, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, just as the LORD had said.Exodus 9:17Still, you lord it over My people and do not allow them to go.Exodus 17:8After this, the Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim.Exodus 17:9So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on the hilltop with the staff of God in my hand.”Exodus 23:13Pay close attention to everything I have said to you. I will make all your enemies turn and run.Exodus 23:28I will send the hornet before you to drive the Hivites and Canaanites and Hittites out of your way.Exodus 23:29I will not drive them out before you in a single year; otherwise the land would become desolate and wild animals would multiply against you.Exodus 23:30Little by little I will drive them out ahead of you, until you become fruitful and possess the land.Exodus 23:31And I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the Euphrates. For I will deliver the inhabitants into your hand, and you will drive them out before you.
