Jeremiah 51:52“Therefore, behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will punish her idols, and throughout her land the wounded will groan.Jeremiah 51:53Even if Babylon ascends to the heavens and fortifies her lofty stronghold, the destroyers I send will come against her,” declares the LORD.Jeremiah 51:54“The sound of a cry comes from Babylon, the sound of great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans!Jeremiah 51:55For the LORD will destroy Babylon; He will silence her mighty voice. So the labor of the people will be for nothing; the nations will exhaust themselves to fuel the flames.”Jeremiah 51:59This is the message that Jeremiah the prophet gave to the quartermaster Seraiah son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, when he went to Babylon with King Zedekiah of Judah in the fourth year of Zedekiah’s reign.Jeremiah 51:60Jeremiah had written on a single scroll about all the disaster that would come upon Babylon—all these words that had been written concerning Babylon.Jeremiah 51:61And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, “When you get to Babylon, see that you read all these words aloud,Jeremiah 51:62and say, ‘O LORD, You have promised to cut off this place so that no one will remain—neither man nor beast. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule the whole earth.Daniel 2:40Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom as strong as iron; for iron shatters and crushes all things, and like iron that crushes all things, it will shatter and crush all the others.Daniel 2:41And just as you saw that the feet and toes were made partly of fired clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom, yet some of the strength of iron will be in it—just as you saw the iron mixed with clay.Daniel 2:42And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.Daniel 2:43As you saw the iron mixed with clay, so the peoples will mix with one another but will not hold together any more than iron mixes with clay.Daniel 2:44In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will shatter all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself stand forever.Daniel 2:45And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold, so the great God has told the king what will happen in the future. So the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.Daniel 6:4Thus the administrators and satraps sought a charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no charge or corruption, because he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him.Daniel 6:5Finally these men said, “We will never find any charge against this Daniel unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.”Daniel 6:6So the administrators and satraps went together to the king and said, “O King Darius, may you live forever!Daniel 6:7All the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers, and governors have agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce a decree that for thirty days anyone who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions.Daniel 6:8Therefore, O king, establish the decree and sign the document so that it cannot be changed—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.”Daniel 6:9Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.Daniel 6:10Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God, just as he had done before.Daniel 6:11Then these men went as a group and found Daniel petitioning and imploring his God.Daniel 6:12So they approached the king and asked about his royal decree: “Did you not sign a decree that for thirty days any man who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions?” The king replied, “According to the law of the Medes and Persians the order stands, and it cannot be repealed.”Daniel 9:1In the first year of Darius son of Xerxes, a Mede by descent, who was made ruler over the kingdom of the Chaldeans—Daniel 11:1“And I, in the first year of Darius the Mede, stood up to strengthen and protect him.Daniel 11:2Now then, I will tell you the truth: Three more kings will arise in Persia, and then a fourth, who will be far richer than all the others. By the power of his wealth, he will stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece.Daniel 11:3Then a mighty king will arise, who will rule with great authority and do as he pleases.Daniel 11:4But as soon as he is established, his kingdom will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven.
