Genesis 3:1Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which Yahweh God had made. He said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?’”Genesis 3:2The woman said to the serpent, “Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat,Genesis 3:3but of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”Genesis 3:4The serpent said to the woman, “You won’t surely die,Genesis 3:5for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”Genesis 3:6When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit, and ate; and she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate.Genesis 3:7The eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked. Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”Genesis 3:12The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”Genesis 3:13Yahweh God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”Genesis 3:14Yahweh God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, you are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.Genesis 3:15I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”Genesis 3:16To the woman he said, “I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. In pain you will bear children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”Genesis 3:17To Adam he said, “Because you have listened to your wife’s voice, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground for your sake. In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.Genesis 3:18It will yield thorns and thistles to you; and you will eat the herb of the field.Genesis 3:19By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. Offer him there for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”Genesis 22:3Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.Genesis 22:4On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off.Genesis 22:5Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go yonder. We will worship, and come back to you.”Genesis 22:6Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife. They both went together.Genesis 22:7Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, “My father?” He said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”Genesis 22:8Abraham said, “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they both went together.Genesis 22:9They came to the place which God had told him of. Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood.Genesis 22:10Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son.Genesis 22:11The angel of Yahweh called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.”Genesis 22:12He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy, neither do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”Genesis 22:13Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.Genesis 22:14Abraham called the name of that place Yahweh Will Provide. As it is said to this day, “On Yahweh’s mountain, it will be provided.”Genesis 26:7The men of the place asked him about his wife. He said, “She is my sister,” for he was afraid to say, “My wife,” lest, he thought, “the men of the place might kill me for Rebekah, because she is beautiful to look at.”Genesis 27:6Rebekah spoke to Jacob her son, saying, “Behold, I heard your father speak to Esau your brother, saying,Genesis 27:7‘Bring me venison, and make me savory food, that I may eat, and bless you before Yahweh before my death.’Genesis 27:8Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command you.Genesis 27:9Go now to the flock, and get me from there two good young goats. I will make them savory food for your father, such as he loves.Genesis 27:10You shall bring it to your father, that he may eat, so that he may bless you before his death.”Genesis 27:11Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, “Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man.Genesis 27:12What if my father touches me? I will seem to him as a deceiver, and I would bring a curse on myself, and not a blessing.”Genesis 27:13His mother said to him, “Let your curse be on me, my son. Only obey my voice, and go get them for me.”Genesis 39:7It happened after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes on Joseph; and she said, “Lie with me.”Genesis 39:8But he refused, and said to his master’s wife, “Behold, my master doesn’t know what is with me in the house, and he has put all that he has into my hand.Genesis 39:9He isn’t greater in this house than I, neither has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife.
