Leviticus 15:33of a woman in her menstrual period, of any male or female who has a discharge, and of a man who lies with an unclean woman.’”Numbers 5:12“Speak to the Israelites and tell them that if any man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to himNumbers 5:13by sleeping with another man, and it is concealed from her husband and her impurity is undetected (since there is no witness against her and she was not caught in the act),Numbers 5:14and if a feeling of jealousy comes over her husband and he suspects his wife who has defiled herself—or if a feeling of jealousy comes over him and he suspects her even though she has not defiled herself—Numbers 5:15then he is to bring his wife to the priest. He is not to pour oil over it or put frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering for jealousy, an offering of memorial as a reminder of iniquity.Numbers 5:16The priest is to bring the wife forward and have her stand before the LORD.Numbers 5:17Then he is to take some holy water in a clay jar and put some of the dust from the tabernacle floor into the water.Numbers 5:18After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to hold the bitter water that brings a curse.Numbers 5:19And he is to put the woman under oath and say to her, ‘If no other man has slept with you and you have not gone astray and become defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be immune to this bitter water that brings a curse.Numbers 5:20But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority and have defiled yourself and lain carnally with a man other than your husband’—Numbers 5:21and the priest shall have the woman swear under the oath of the curse—‘then may the LORD make you an attested curse among your people by making your thigh shrivel and your belly swell.Numbers 5:22May this water that brings a curse enter your stomach and cause your belly to swell and your thigh to shrivel.’ Then the woman is to say, ‘Amen, Amen.’Numbers 5:23And the priest shall write these curses on a scroll and wash them off into the bitter water.Numbers 5:24He is to have the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and it will enter her and may cause her bitter suffering.Numbers 5:25The priest shall take from her hand the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the LORD, and bring it to the altar.Numbers 5:26Then the priest is to take a handful of the grain offering as a memorial portion and burn it on the altar; after that he is to have the woman drink the water.Numbers 5:27When he has made her drink the water, if she has defiled herself and been unfaithful to her husband, then the water that brings a curse will enter her and cause bitter suffering; her belly will swell, her thigh will shrivel, and she will become accursed among her people.Numbers 5:28But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, she will be unaffected and able to conceive children.Numbers 5:29This is the law of jealousy when a wife goes astray and defiles herself while under her husband’s authority,Numbers 5:30or when a feeling of jealousy comes over a husband and he suspects his wife. You certainly must give them property as an inheritance among their father’s brothers and transfer their father’s inheritance to them.Numbers 27:8Furthermore, you shall say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, you are to transfer his inheritance to his daughter.Numbers 27:9If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers.Numbers 27:10If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.Numbers 27:11And if his father has no brothers, give his inheritance to the next of kin from his clan, that he may take possession of it. This is to be a statutory ordinance for the Israelites, as the LORD has commanded Moses.’”Numbers 30:3And if a woman in her father’s house during her youth makes a vow to the LORD or obligates herself by a pledge,Numbers 30:4and her father hears about her vow or pledge but says nothing to her, then all the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand.Numbers 30:5But if her father prohibits her on the day he hears about it, then none of the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand. The LORD will absolve her because her father has prohibited her.Numbers 30:6If a woman marries while under a vow or rash promise by which she has bound herself,Numbers 30:7and her husband hears of it but says nothing to her on that day, then the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand.Numbers 30:8But if her husband prohibits her when he hears of it, he nullifies the vow that binds her or the rash promise she has made, and the LORD will absolve her.Numbers 30:9Every vow a widow or divorced woman pledges to fulfill is binding on her.Numbers 30:10If a woman in her husband’s house has made a vow or put herself under an obligation with an oath,Numbers 30:11and her husband hears of it but says nothing to her and does not prohibit her, then all the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand.Numbers 30:12But if her husband nullifies them on the day he hears of them, then nothing that came from her lips, whether her vows or pledges, shall stand. Her husband has nullified them, and the LORD will absolve her.Numbers 30:13Her husband may confirm or nullify any vow or any sworn pledge to deny herself.Numbers 30:14But if her husband says nothing to her from day to day, then he confirms all the vows and pledges that bind her. He has confirmed them, because he said nothing to her on the day he heard about them.Numbers 30:15But if he nullifies them after he hears of them, then he will bear her iniquity.”Numbers 30:16These are the statutes that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the relationship between a man and his wife, and between a father and a young daughter still in his home.Numbers 31:9The Israelites captured the Midianite women and their children, and they plundered all their herds, flocks, and goods.Numbers 31:15“Have you spared all the women?” he asked them.Numbers 31:16“Look, these women caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD.Numbers 31:17So now, kill all the boys, as well as every woman who has had relations with a man,Numbers 31:18but spare for yourselves every girl who has never had relations with a man.Numbers 31:35and 32,000 women who had not slept with a man.Deuteronomy 22:5A woman must not wear men’s clothing, and a man must not wear women’s clothing, for whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD your God.Deuteronomy 22:23If there is a virgin pledged in marriage to a man, and another man encounters her in the city and sleeps with her,Deuteronomy 22:24you must take both of them out to the gate of that city and stone them to death—the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he has violated his neighbor’s wife. So you must purge the evil from among you.Deuteronomy 22:25But if the man encounters a betrothed woman in the open country, and he overpowers her and lies with her, only the man who has done this must die.Deuteronomy 22:26Do nothing to the young woman, because she has committed no sin worthy of death. This case is just like one in which a man attacks his neighbor and murders him.
