To produce a highly literal modern-English revision in the ASV tradition.

How did it develop?

The project began in 1959. The New Testament appeared in 1963 and the complete NASB in 1971, with later updates in 1977, 1995 and 2020. It is known for a strong formal-equivalence philosophy.
