How did it develop?
The Wycliffite Bibles were handwritten Middle English translations made from the Latin Vulgate. Two major forms circulated in the late fourteenth century. They stand at the beginning of the long history of complete English Bibles, although they were not translated directly from Hebrew and Greek.
