Mr. M.--How may a man know if he has eternal life?
Mr. R.--By not treating God as if He were a liar, when He tells us He has given us eternal life in His Son.
Mr. M.--What is the means by which the New Birth we were speaking of is effected?
Mr. R.--"Of His own will begat He us with the _word of truth_." "Being _born again_, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the _Word of God_ . . . . and this is the Word, which by the Gospel is preached unto you."
