In discoursing on these words, we will shew,

David, as we are told in the foregomg context, had been involved in many troubles, from which nothing but a Divine interpontion could have defi- vered him*. But we must not confine tiie sab|ect to tenqmral defiverances : he speaks of scmednng which God had done for ^ his mtd;" and more par- ticularly sped&es, that God *^ had not turned away his merc]^ horn hAm^-," and makes that the peculiar ground of his praise and ihanias^ving. We observe then that God had vouchsaled to him,
