On the Lord’s day (év xupiaxy jyuépg). The phrase occurs only here in the New Testament. The first day of the week, the festival of the Lord’s resurrection. Not, as some, the day of judgment, which in the New Testament is expressed by 7 népa tod Kupiou the day of the Lord (2 Thess. ii. 2); or nEpa Kupéov the day of the Lord, the article being omitted (2 Pet. iii. 10); or nuépa Xpiorod the day of Christ (Philip. ii. 16). The usual New Testament expression for the first day of the week is ) pia TOV caBBadrwv (Luke xxiv. 1; see on Acts xx. 7).
