This e-book is a reproduction of an original that itself is an excerpt of a larger work, as stated in the Publisher's Preface. There were a number of spelling and punctuation errors, too numerous to detail, that were corrected in this version of the book. There are also a number of stylistic differences between the works including format of references (e.g. Roman vs. decimal numbers), italics and poetry indentings.
