00247: 247. ἄλλως [adverb of ἄλλος,] I. in another way or manner, otherwise, Hom., etc.: in attic, ἄλλως πως in some other way; ἄλλως οὐδαμῶς in no other wise; καὶ ἄλλως and besides; ἀρίστου καὶ ἄλλως φρονιμωτάτου Plat.
2. ἄλλως τε καί . . , both otherwise and so, . . , i. e. especially, attic, etc.
II. otherwise, differently, ἄλλως εἶπαι to say otherwise, i. e. to deny, Hdt.
