GAMMADIM: This word occurs only in (Ezekiel 27:11) A variety of explanations of the term have been offered. One class renders it "pygmies." A second treats it as a geographical or local term. A third gives a more general sense to the word "brave warriors." Hitzig suggests "deserters." After all, the rendering in the LXX. --"guards"-- furnishes the simplest explanation.
