George Müller

Müller's accounts of orphan care and prayer in nineteenth-century Bristol made him influential in evangelical discussions of trust and charity. His narratives are especially useful when read alongside the logistics, accountability, and ethical responsibilities of caring for vulnerable children.

How to study this writer

Read a passage from Müller's narratives and build a practical needs-and-controls checklist for a modern charitable project. What evidence would donors, guardians, and affected children deserve?

Historical caution: Modern child safeguarding, financial disclosure, and nonprofit law must govern contemporary care work.

Responsible research practice

Read the full primary work and compare its biblical references with the actual chapter. Check when an author wrote, the community and conflict addressed, and whether a later editor compiled or translated the text. Historic works are evidence of historical interpretation, not modern professional advice or a substitute for Scripture.

Rights: U.S. public-domain sources and specifically licensed editions only. For reuse beyond this site or outside the U.S., inspect the actual edition and applicable local law.
