Pliny and Trajan correspond about Christians

What happened?

Pliny the Younger asked Emperor Trajan how to handle accused Christians in Bithynia-Pontus. The exchange shows Christians meeting before dawn, singing to Christ and pledging ethical conduct.

Why it matters

It is an unusually early non-Christian administrative witness to Christian worship and Roman policy.
