On the hymnody of the Reformed churches of Switzerland and France in the
sixteenth century, Les Psaumes mis en rime francaise par Clément Marot et Theodore de Beze. Mis en musique ἃ quatre parties par Claude Goudimel. Geneve, 1565. It contains 150 Psalms, Symeon’s Song, a poem on the Decalogue, and 150 melodies, many of which were based on secular tunes, and found entrance into the Lutheran Church. A beautiful modern edition by O. DoUEN: Clément Marot et le Psautier Huguenot. Paris, 1878 and 1879, 2 vols. WEBER: Geschichte des Kirchengesangs in der deutschen reformirten Schweiz seit der Reformation. Ziirich, 1876.
