MINISTRY TRAINING · MODULE 16 · UNIT 3 OF 4

Supervised Practice Record

Study passage: Galatians 6:2. Read the whole surrounding chapter before relying on this unit.

Teaching and interpretation

Field experience should take place only where qualified supervision, consent and safeguarding are in place. Record hours, activity type, dates, supervisory confirmation and observations that protect private information. Students should not provide independent clinical counseling, officiate rites, or exercise roles that require local authorization merely because they enrolled online.

Pastoral case to discuss

A student reports sixty hours of unsupervised online conversations as 'clinical pastoral practice.' Can they be accepted without verification or supervision?

Describe the relevant facts and what you would still need to know. Do not present assumptions as the person's motives, diagnose a disorder or make unverified claims about Scripture.

Required practical exercise

Draft a practice plan for sixty supervised hours with a named qualified mentor, role boundaries, case confidentiality and a verification process.

Support your answers with passages in context and distinguish biblical teaching, historical interpretation, modern professional standards and personal judgment. Keep real people's details confidential.
