MODULE 16 · Supervised practice
Capstone, Portfolio and Supervised Ministry Practice
The capstone brings the whole curriculum together. Students assemble a transparent teaching portfolio, document assignments, demonstrate pastoral boundaries, and complete appropriately supervised practice with a real qualified mentor where available. A quiz score or self-reported hours cannot substitute for independent evaluation. The site's self-study track can record work, but no formal pastoral credential is issued automatically.
Learning outcomes
- Assemble a coherent, source-grounded ministry portfolio
- Demonstrate safeguarding and referral judgment in cases
- Describe evidence required for a human-verified practicum
Four teaching units
UNIT 1 · SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 2:15
A credible portfolio includes work that another teacher can examine. Gather a passage study, a sermon draft, a revised teaching sample, a lesson plan, and an honest account of feedback. Cite sources and identify borrowed illustrations. Work from Scripture and historical primary texts; do not pass an automated paraphrase or another ministe…

UNIT 2 · SCRIPTURE: 1 Peter 5:2-3
A future pastor needs to demonstrate judgment when confronted with abuse disclosures, vulnerable people, clinical risk, financial conflict and blurred boundaries. Written case analyses are useful but do not by themselves demonstrate practice competence. Human reviewers must assess responses against local law, ethical standards and documen…

UNIT 3 · SCRIPTURE: Galatians 6:2
Field experience should take place only where qualified supervision, consent and safeguarding are in place. Record hours, activity type, dates, supervisory confirmation and observations that protect private information. Students should not provide independent clinical counseling, officiate rites, or exercise roles that require local autho…

UNIT 4 · SCRIPTURE: James 3:1
The New Testament warns that teachers bear significant responsibility. Program completion must therefore involve human judgment about interpretation, character, safety and actual service, not an automatic certificate triggered by five multiple-choice answers. Reflection continues after any course. Seek independent feedback, a community th…

Practical assessment
Knowledge check: Five questions, with an 80% pass threshold for this self-study checkpoint. The score does not certify ministry competence.
Written assignment: Use the practical tasks from this module to prepare an original portfolio document. A submission is marked as awaiting human review, not automatically approved.
