MINISTRY TRAINING · MODULE 4 · UNIT 3 OF 4

Resurrection and Testimony

Study passage: 1 Corinthians 15:3-20. Read the whole surrounding chapter before relying on this unit.

Teaching and interpretation

Paul treats the resurrection as essential to the Christian proclamation, not an optional moral allegory. Examine the arguments in 1 Corinthians 15 and distinguish its testimony from later philosophical or historical claims. A responsible teacher can openly say that the text makes a faith claim while still inviting questions about evidence.

Pastoral case to discuss

A skeptic asks which parts of resurrection teaching belong to ancient testimony and which are later church creeds. How would you separate the sources?

Describe the relevant facts and what you would still need to know. Do not present assumptions as the person's motives, diagnose a disorder or make unverified claims about Scripture.

Required practical exercise

Produce a source map of New Testament witness, creed, historical argument and uncertainty.

Support your answers with passages in context and distinguish biblical teaching, historical interpretation, modern professional standards and personal judgment. Keep real people's details confidential.
