Exodus 17:1Then the whole congregation of Israel left the Desert of Sin, moving from place to place as the LORD commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.Exodus 17:2So the people contended with Moses, “Give us water to drink.” “Why do you contend with me?” Moses replied. “Why do you test the LORD?”Exodus 17:3But the people thirsted for water there, and they grumbled against Moses: “Why have you brought us out of Egypt—to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”Exodus 17:4Then Moses cried out to the LORD, “What should I do with these people? A little more and they will stone me!”Exodus 17:5And the LORD said to Moses, “Walk on ahead of the people and take some of the elders of Israel with you. Take along in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.Exodus 17:6Behold, I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. And when you strike the rock, water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.Exodus 17:7He named the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled, and because they tested the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us or not?”Leviticus 26:14If, however, you fail to obey Me and to carry out all these commandments,Leviticus 26:15and if you reject My statutes, despise My ordinances, and neglect to carry out all My commandments, and so break My covenant,Leviticus 26:16then this is what I will do to you: I will bring upon you sudden terror, wasting disease, and fever that will destroy your sight and drain your life. You will sow your seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.Leviticus 26:17And I will set My face against you, so that you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one pursues you.Leviticus 26:18And if after all this you will not obey Me, I will proceed to punish you sevenfold for your sins.Leviticus 26:19I will break down your stubborn pride and make your sky like iron and your land like bronze,Leviticus 26:20and your strength will be spent in vain. For your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.Leviticus 26:21If you walk in hostility toward Me and refuse to obey Me, I will multiply your plagues seven times, according to your sins.Leviticus 26:22I will send wild animals against you to rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and reduce your numbers, until your roads lie desolate.Leviticus 26:23And if in spite of these things you do not accept My discipline, but continue to walk in hostility toward Me,Leviticus 26:24then I will act with hostility toward you, and I will strike you sevenfold for your sins.Leviticus 26:25And I will bring a sword against you to execute the vengeance of the covenant. Though you withdraw into your cities, I will send a plague among you, and you will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.Leviticus 26:26When I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will bake your bread in a single oven and dole out your bread by weight, so that you will eat but not be satisfied.Leviticus 26:27But if in spite of all this you do not obey Me, but continue to walk in hostility toward Me,Leviticus 26:28then I will walk in fury against you, and I, even I, will punish you sevenfold for your sins.Leviticus 26:29You will eat the flesh of your own sons and daughters.Leviticus 26:30I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars, and heap your lifeless bodies on the lifeless remains of your idols; and My soul will despise you.Leviticus 26:31I will reduce your cities to rubble and lay waste your sanctuaries, and I will refuse to smell the pleasing aroma of your sacrifices.Leviticus 26:32And I will lay waste the land, so that your enemies who dwell in it will be appalled.Leviticus 26:33But I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out a sword after you as your land becomes desolate and your cities are laid waste.Leviticus 26:34Then the land shall enjoy its Sabbaths all the days it lies desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.Leviticus 26:35As long as it lies desolate, the land will have the rest it did not receive during the Sabbaths when you lived in it.Leviticus 26:36As for those of you who survive, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, so that even the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. And they will flee as one flees the sword, and fall when no one pursues them.Leviticus 26:37They will stumble over one another as before the sword, though no one is behind them. So you will not be able to stand against your enemies.Leviticus 26:38You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will consume you.Leviticus 26:39Those of you who survive in the lands of your enemies will waste away in their iniquity and will decay in the sins of their fathers.Leviticus 26:40But if they will confess their iniquity and that of their fathers in the unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, by which they have also walked in hostility toward Me—Leviticus 26:41and I acted with hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies—and if their uncircumcised hearts will be humbled and they will make amends for their iniquity,Leviticus 26:42then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.Numbers 14:43For there the Amalekites and Canaanites will face you, and you will fall by the sword. Because you have turned away from the LORD, He will not be with you.”Deuteronomy 4:9Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen, and so that they do not slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and grandchildren.Deuteronomy 4:25After you have children and grandchildren and you have been in the land a long time, if you then act corruptly and make an idol of any form—doing evil in the sight of the LORD your God and provoking Him to anger—Deuteronomy 4:26I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you this day that you will quickly perish from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. You will not live long upon it, but will be utterly destroyed.Deuteronomy 4:27Then the LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and only a few of you will survive among the nations to which the LORD will drive you.Deuteronomy 4:28And there you will serve man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.Deuteronomy 4:29But if from there you will seek the LORD your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.Deuteronomy 4:30When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and listen to His voice.Deuteronomy 4:31For the LORD your God is a merciful God; He will not abandon you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers, which He swore to them by oath.Deuteronomy 8:11Be careful not to forget the LORD your God by failing to keep His commandments and ordinances and statutes, which I am giving you this day.Deuteronomy 8:12Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses in which to dwell,Deuteronomy 8:13and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all that you have is multiplied,Deuteronomy 8:14then your heart will become proud, and you will forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.Deuteronomy 28:15If, however, you do not obey the LORD your God by carefully following all His commandments and statutes I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:Deuteronomy 28:16You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country.Deuteronomy 28:17Your basket and kneading bowl will be cursed.Deuteronomy 28:18The fruit of your womb will be cursed, as well as the produce of your land, the calves of your herds, and the lambs of your flocks.Deuteronomy 28:19You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.Deuteronomy 28:20The LORD will send curses upon you, confusion and reproof in all to which you put your hand, until you are destroyed and quickly perish because of the wickedness you have committed in forsaking Him.Deuteronomy 28:21The LORD will make the plague cling to you until He has exterminated you from the land that you are entering to possess.Deuteronomy 28:22The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, and with blight and mildew; these will pursue you until you perish.Deuteronomy 28:23The sky over your head will be bronze, and the earth beneath you iron.Deuteronomy 28:24The LORD will turn the rain of your land into dust and powder; it will descend on you from the sky until you are destroyed.Deuteronomy 28:25The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will march out against them in one direction but flee from them in seven. You will be an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
