Jeremiah 32:30For the children of Israel and of Judah have done nothing but evil in My sight from their youth; indeed, they have done nothing but provoke Me to anger by the work of their hands, declares the LORD.Jeremiah 32:31For this city has aroused My wrath and fury from the day it was built until now. They have wandered from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.Hosea 1:1This is the word of the LORD that came to Hosea son of Beeri in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and of Jeroboam son of Jehoash, king of Israel.Hosea 1:2When the LORD first spoke through Hosea, He told him, “Go, take a prostitute as your wife and have children of adultery, because this land is flagrantly prostituting itself by departing from the LORD.”Hosea 1:3So Hosea went and married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.Hosea 1:4Then the LORD said to Hosea, “Name him Jezreel, for soon I will bring the bloodshed of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.Hosea 1:5And on that day I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel.”Hosea 1:6Gomer again conceived and gave birth to a daughter, and the LORD said to Hosea, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have compassion on the house of Israel, that I should ever forgive them.Hosea 1:7Yet I will have compassion on the house of Judah, and I will save them—not by bow or sword or war, not by horses and cavalry, but by the LORD their God.”Hosea 1:8After she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, Gomer conceived and gave birth to a son.Hosea 1:9And the LORD said, “Name him Lo-ammi, for you are not My people, and I am not your God.Hosea 3:5Afterward, the people of Israel will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness in the last days.Hosea 4:6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you as My priests. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.Hosea 4:10They will eat but not be satisfied; they will be promiscuous but not multiply. For they have abandoned the LORD to give themselvesHosea 4:16For Israel is as obstinate as a stubborn heifer. Can the LORD now shepherd them like lambs in an open meadow?Hosea 5:1“Hear this, O priests! Take heed, O house of Israel! Give ear, O royal house! For this judgment is against you because you have been a snare at Mizpah, a net spread out on Tabor.Hosea 5:2The rebels are deep in slaughter; but I will chastise them all.Hosea 5:3I know all about Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me. For now, O Ephraim, you have turned to prostitution; Israel is defiled.Hosea 5:4Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God, for a spirit of prostitution is within them, and they do not know the LORD.Hosea 5:5Israel’s arrogance testifies against them; Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; even Judah stumbles with them.Hosea 5:6They go with their flocks and herds to seek the LORD, but they do not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.Hosea 5:7They have been unfaithful to the LORD; for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the New Moon will devour them along with their land.Hosea 5:8Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah; raise the battle cry in Beth-aven: Lead on, O Benjamin!Hosea 5:9Ephraim will be laid waste on the day of rebuke. Among the tribes of Israel I proclaim what is certain.Hosea 5:10The princes of Judah are like those who move boundary stones; I will pour out My fury upon them like water.Hosea 5:11Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, for he is determined to follow worthless idols.Hosea 5:12So I am like a moth to Ephraim, and like decay to the house of Judah.Hosea 5:13When Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah his wound, then Ephraim turned to Assyria and sent to the great king. But he cannot cure you or heal your wound.Hosea 5:14For I am like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear them to pieces and then go away. I will carry them off where no one can rescue them.Hosea 5:15Then I will return to My place until they admit their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.”Hosea 6:1Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us to pieces, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bind up our wounds.Hosea 6:2After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His presence.Hosea 6:3So let us know—let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the earth.Hosea 6:4What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? For your loyalty is like a morning mist, like the early dew that vanishes.Hosea 6:5Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth, and My judgments go forth like lightning.Hosea 6:6For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.Hosea 6:7But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant; there they were unfaithful to Me.Hosea 6:8Gilead is a city of evildoers, tracked with footprints of blood.Hosea 6:9Like raiders who lie in ambush, so does a band of priests; they murder on the way to Shechem; surely they have committed atrocities.Hosea 6:10In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing: Ephraim practices prostitution there, and Israel is defiled.Hosea 6:11Also for you, O Judah, a harvest is appointed, when I restore My people from captivity.Hosea 8:14Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; Judah has multiplied its fortified cities. But I will send fire upon their cities, and it will consume their citadels.Hosea 9:1Do not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation like the nations, for you have played the harlot against your God; you have made love for hire on every threshing floor.Hosea 9:2The threshing floor and winepress will not feed them, and the new wine will fail them.Hosea 9:3They will not remain in the land of the LORD; Ephraim will return to Egypt and eat unclean food in Assyria.Hosea 9:4They will not pour out wine offerings to the LORD, and their sacrifices will not please Him, but will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat will be defiled. For their bread will be for themselves; it will not enter the house of the LORD.Hosea 9:5What will you do on the appointed day, on the day of the LORD’s feast?Hosea 9:6For even if they flee destruction, Egypt will gather them and Memphis will bury them. Their precious silver will be taken over by thistles, and thorns will overrun their tents.Hosea 9:7The days of punishment have come; the days of retribution have arrived—let Israel know it. The prophet is called a fool, and the inspired man insane, because of the greatness of your iniquity and hostility.Hosea 9:8The prophet is Ephraim’s watchman, along with my God, yet the snare of the fowler lies on all his paths. Hostility is in the house of his God!Hosea 9:9They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah; He will remember their guilt; He will punish their sins.Hosea 9:10I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the firstfruits of the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal-peor, and consecrated themselves to Shame; so they became as detestable as the thing they loved.Hosea 9:11Ephraim’s glory will fly away like a bird, with no birth, no pregnancy, and no conception.Hosea 9:12Even if they raise their children, I will bereave them of each one. Yes, woe be to them when I turn away from them!Hosea 9:13I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a meadow. But Ephraim will bring out his children for slaughter.Hosea 9:14Give them, O LORD—what will You give? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that dry up!Hosea 9:15All their evil appears at Gilgal, for there I hated them. I will drive them from My house for the wickedness of their deeds. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious.
