Exodus 16:25“Eat it today,” Moses said, “because today is a Sabbath to the LORD. Today you will not find anything in the field.Exodus 16:26For six days you may gather, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, it will not be there.”Exodus 16:27Yet on the seventh day some of the people went out to gather, but they did not find anything.Exodus 16:28Then the LORD said to Moses, “How long will you refuse to keep My commandments and instructions?Exodus 16:29Understand that the LORD has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day He will give you bread for two days. On the seventh day, everyone must stay where he is; no one may leave his place.”Exodus 16:30So the people rested on the seventh day.Exodus 16:31Now the house of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey.Exodus 16:32Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded: ‘Keep an omer of manna for the generations to come, so that they may see the bread I fed you in the wilderness when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.’”Exodus 16:33So Moses told Aaron, “Take a jar and fill it with an omer of manna. Then place it before the LORD to be preserved for the generations to come.”Exodus 16:34And Aaron placed it in front of the Testimony, to be preserved just as the LORD had commanded Moses.Exodus 16:35The Israelites ate manna forty years, until they came to a land where they could settle; they ate manna until they reached the border of Canaan.Exodus 16:36(Now an omer is a tenth of an ephah.)Exodus 17:2So the people contended with Moses, “Give us water to drink.” “Why do you contend with me?” Moses replied. “Why do you test the LORD?”Exodus 17:3But the people thirsted for water there, and they grumbled against Moses: “Why have you brought us out of Egypt—to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”Exodus 17:4Then Moses cried out to the LORD, “What should I do with these people? A little more and they will stone me!”Exodus 17:5And the LORD said to Moses, “Walk on ahead of the people and take some of the elders of Israel with you. Take along in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.Exodus 17:6Behold, I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. And when you strike the rock, water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.Exodus 17:7He named the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled, and because they tested the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us or not?”Exodus 17:13So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his army with the sword.Exodus 18:25So Moses chose capable men from all Israel and made them heads over the people as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.Exodus 19:1In the third month, on the same day of the month that the Israelites had left the land of Egypt, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai.Exodus 19:3Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, “This is what you are to tell the house of Jacob and explain to the sons of Israel:Exodus 19:4‘You have seen for yourselves what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.Exodus 19:5Now if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, you will be My treasured possession out of all the nations—for the whole earth is Mine.Exodus 19:6And unto Me you shall be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to speak to the Israelites.”Exodus 19:7So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the LORD had commanded him.Exodus 19:8And all the people answered together, “We will do everything that the LORD has spoken.” So Moses brought their words back to the LORD.Exodus 19:10Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. They must wash their clothesExodus 19:11and be prepared by the third day, for on the third day the LORD will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.Exodus 19:12And you are to set up a boundary for the people around the mountain and tell them, ‘Be careful not to go up on the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.Exodus 19:13No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with arrows—whether man or beast, he must not live.’ Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast may they approach the mountain.”Exodus 19:14When Moses came down from the mountain to the people, he consecrated them, and they washed their clothes.Exodus 19:15“Be prepared for the third day,” he said to the people. “Do not draw near to a woman.”Exodus 21:2If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free without paying anything.Exodus 24:1Then the LORD said to Moses, “Come up to the LORD—you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of Israel’s elders—and you are to worship at a distance.Exodus 24:2Moses alone shall approach the LORD, but the others must not come near. And the people may not go up with him.”Exodus 24:3When Moses came and told the people all the words and ordinances of the LORD, they all responded with one voice: “All the words that the LORD has spoken, we will do.”Exodus 24:4And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Early the next morning he got up and built an altar at the base of the mountain, along with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.Exodus 24:7Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people, who replied, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient.”Exodus 32:9The LORD also said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people.Exodus 32:10Now leave Me alone, so that My anger may burn against them and consume them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”Exodus 32:11But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God, saying, “O LORD, why does Your anger burn against Your people, whom You brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?Exodus 32:12Why should the Egyptians declare, ‘He brought them out with evil intent, to kill them in the mountains and wipe them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce anger and relent from doing harm to Your people.Exodus 32:13Remember Your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, to whom You swore by Your very self when You declared, ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky, and I will give your descendants all this land that I have promised, and it shall be their inheritance forever.’”Exodus 32:14So the LORD relented from the calamity He had threatened to bring on His people.Exodus 32:19As Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, he burned with anger and threw the tablets out of his hands, shattering them at the base of the mountain.Exodus 32:20Then he took the calf they had made, burned it in the fire, ground it to powder, and scattered the powder over the face of the water. Then he forced the Israelites to drink it.Exodus 32:21“What did this people do to you,” Moses asked Aaron, “that you have led them into so great a sin?”Exodus 32:22“Do not be enraged, my lord,” Aaron replied. “You yourself know that the people are intent on evil.Exodus 32:23They told me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him!’Exodus 32:24So I said to them, ‘Whoever has gold, let him take it off,’ and they gave it to me. And when I threw it into the fire, out came this calf!”Exodus 32:25Moses saw that the people were out of control, for Aaron had let them run wild and become a laughingstock to their enemies.Exodus 32:26So Moses stood at the entrance to the camp and said, “Whoever is for the LORD, come to me.” And all the Levites gathered around him.Exodus 32:27He told them, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Each of you men is to fasten his sword to his side, go back and forth through the camp from gate to gate, and slay his brother, his friend, and his neighbor.’”Exodus 32:28The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people fell dead.Exodus 32:29Afterward, Moses said, “Today you have been ordained for service to the LORD, since each man went against his son and his brother; so the LORD has bestowed a blessing on you this day.”Exodus 32:30The next day Moses said to the people, “You have committed a great sin. Now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.”Exodus 32:31So Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made gods of gold for themselves.Exodus 32:32Yet now, if You would only forgive their sin.... But if not, please blot me out of the book that You have written.”Exodus 32:33The LORD replied to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot out of My book.
