Deuteronomy 5:5At that time I was standing between the LORD and you to declare to you the word of the LORD, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain. And He said:Deuteronomy 5:6“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.Deuteronomy 5:7You shall have no other gods before Me.Deuteronomy 5:8You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in the heavens above, on the earth below, or in the waters beneath.Deuteronomy 5:9You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,Deuteronomy 5:10but showing loving devotion to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.Deuteronomy 5:11You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave anyone unpunished who takes His name in vain.Deuteronomy 5:12Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you.Deuteronomy 5:13Six days you shall labor and do all your work,Deuteronomy 5:14but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox or donkey or any of your livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest as you do.Deuteronomy 5:15Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. That is why the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.Deuteronomy 5:16Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.Deuteronomy 5:17You shall not murder.Deuteronomy 5:18You shall not commit adultery.Deuteronomy 5:19You shall not steal.Deuteronomy 5:20You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.Deuteronomy 5:21You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house or field, or his manservant or maidservant, or his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”Deuteronomy 5:22The LORD spoke these commandments in a loud voice to your whole assembly out of the fire, the cloud, and the deep darkness on the mountain; He added nothing more. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.Deuteronomy 6:4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.Deuteronomy 6:5And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.Deuteronomy 6:6These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts.Deuteronomy 6:7And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.Deuteronomy 6:8Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.Deuteronomy 6:9Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.Deuteronomy 9:10Then the LORD gave me the two stone tablets, inscribed by the finger of God with the exact words that the LORD spoke to you out of the fire on the mountain on the day of the assembly.Deuteronomy 10:1At that time the LORD said to me, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the originals, come up to Me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood.Deuteronomy 10:2And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke; and you are to place them in the ark.”Deuteronomy 10:3So I made an ark of acacia wood, chiseled out two stone tablets like the originals, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hands.Deuteronomy 10:4And the LORD wrote on the tablets what had been written previously, the Ten Commandments that He had spoken to you on the mountain out of the fire on the day of the assembly. The LORD gave them to me,Deuteronomy 10:5and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.Deuteronomy 11:18Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.Deuteronomy 11:19Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.Deuteronomy 11:20Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates,Deuteronomy 11:21so that as long as the heavens are above the earth, your days and those of your children may be multiplied in the land that the LORD swore to give your fathers.Deuteronomy 17:18When he is seated on his royal throne, he must write for himself a copy of this instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.Deuteronomy 17:19It is to remain with him, and he is to read from it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by carefully observing all the words of this instruction and these statutes.Deuteronomy 17:20Then his heart will not be exalted above his countrymen, and he will not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or to the left, in order that he and his sons may reign many years over his kingdom in Israel.Deuteronomy 27:2And on the day you cross the Jordan into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, set up large stones and coat them with plaster.Deuteronomy 27:3Write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over to enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.Deuteronomy 27:4And when you have crossed the Jordan, you are to set up these stones on Mount Ebal, as I am commanding you today, and you are to coat them with plaster.Deuteronomy 27:5Moreover, you are to build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones. You must not use any iron tool on them.Deuteronomy 27:6You shall build the altar of the LORD your God with uncut stones and offer upon it burnt offerings to the LORD your God.Deuteronomy 27:7There you are to sacrifice your peace offerings, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the LORD your God.Deuteronomy 27:8And you shall write distinctly upon these stones all the words of this law.”Deuteronomy 27:12“When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.Deuteronomy 27:13And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to deliver the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.Deuteronomy 27:14Then the Levites shall proclaim in a loud voice to every Israelite:Deuteronomy 27:15‘Cursed is the man who makes a carved idol or molten image—an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of a craftsman—and sets it up in secret.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:16‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:17‘Cursed is he who moves his neighbor’s boundary stone.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:18‘Cursed is he who lets a blind man wander in the road.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:19‘Cursed is he who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:20‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he has violated his father’s marriage bed.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:21‘Cursed is he who lies with any animal.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:22‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:23‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his mother-in-law.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:24‘Cursed is he who strikes down his neighbor in secret.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:25‘Cursed is he who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 27:26‘Cursed is he who does not put the words of this law into practice.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’Deuteronomy 31:9So Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.
