Luke 24:6He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee:Luke 24:7‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’”Luke 24:8Then they remembered His words.Luke 24:9And when they returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the Eleven and to all the others.Luke 24:10It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.Luke 24:11But their words seemed like nonsense to them, and they did not believe the women.Luke 24:12Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. And after bending down and seeing only the linen cloths, he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.John 11:1At this time a man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.John 11:2(Mary, whose brother Lazarus was sick, was to anoint the Lord with perfume and wipe His feet with her hair.)John 11:3So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one You love is sick.”John 11:18Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, a little less than two miles away,John 11:19and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them in the loss of their brother.John 11:20So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet Him, but Mary stayed at home.John 11:21Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.John 11:22But even now I know that God will give You whatever You ask of Him.”John 11:23“Your brother will rise again,” Jesus told her.John 11:24Martha replied, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”John 11:25Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies.John 11:26And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”John 11:27“Yes, Lord,” she answered, “I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.”John 11:28After Martha had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside to tell her, “The Teacher is here and is asking for you.”John 11:29And when Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to Him.John 11:30Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met Him.John 11:31When the Jews who were in the house consoling Mary saw how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there.John 11:32When Mary came to Jesus and saw Him, she fell at His feet and said, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”John 11:33When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.John 11:34“Where have you put him?” He asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they answered.John 11:35Jesus wept.John 11:36Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”John 11:37But some of them asked, “Could not this man who opened the eyes of the blind also have kept Lazarus from dying?”John 11:38Jesus, once again deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.John 11:39“Take away the stone,” Jesus said. “Lord, by now he stinks,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man. “It has already been four days.”John 11:40Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”John 11:41So they took away the stone. Then Jesus lifted His eyes upward and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.John 11:42I knew that You always hear Me, but I say this for the benefit of the people standing here, so they may believe that You sent Me.”John 11:43After Jesus had said this, He called out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”John 11:44The man who had been dead came out with his hands and feet bound in strips of linen, and his face wrapped in a cloth. “Unwrap him and let him go,” Jesus told them.John 11:45Therefore many of the Jews who had come to Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in Him.John 11:46But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.Acts 2:1When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.Acts 2:2Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.Acts 2:3They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.Acts 2:4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.Acts 2:5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.Acts 2:6And when this sound rang out, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking his own language.Acts 2:7Astounded and amazed, they asked, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?Acts 2:8How is it then that each of us hears them in his own native language?Acts 2:9Parthians, Medes, and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,Acts 2:10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome,Acts 2:11both Jews and converts to Judaism; Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”Acts 2:12Astounded and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”Acts 2:13But others mocked them and said, “They are drunk on new wine!”Acts 2:14Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice, and addressed the crowd: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen carefully to my words.Acts 2:15These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It is only the third hour of the day!Acts 2:16No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:Acts 2:17‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.Acts 2:18Even on My menservants and maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.Acts 2:19I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.Acts 2:20The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord.Acts 2:21And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
