At the same time he seems to have had in his mind the particular phraseology which had been ordinarily used at the feast of trumpets : Arise, Arise out of your sleep ; awake from your sleep, ye who deal in vain things, for very heavy sleep is sent to you; see Hotting, ad Godw., p. 601.
