MINISTRY TRAINING · MODULE 14 · UNIT 1 OF 4
Design a Group Around a Real Passage
Study passage: Acts 2:42-47. Read the whole surrounding chapter before relying on this unit.
Teaching and interpretation
Small groups can be formative when learning, prayer, fellowship and shared service are connected. A good meeting focuses on one passage and invites observation before application. Encourage contributions but allow quiet participation. Keep the group's language simple enough that new learners can ask what a term means without embarrassment.
Pastoral case to discuss
A group leader lectures for forty-five minutes while attendees never open a Bible or speak. What could be changed?
Describe the relevant facts and what you would still need to know. Do not present assumptions as the person's motives, diagnose a disorder or make unverified claims about Scripture.
Required practical exercise
Prepare a forty-five-minute meeting with passage, context questions, discussion and one practical service idea.
Support your answers with passages in context and distinguish biblical teaching, historical interpretation, modern professional standards and personal judgment. Keep real people's details confidential.
