MINISTRY TRAINING · MODULE 15 · UNIT 4 OF 4
Measure the Actual Benefit
Study passage: Matthew 25:35-40. Read the whole surrounding chapter before relying on this unit.
Teaching and interpretation
Good intent is not the same as measurable good. Define what the community wants, who owns data, the project costs and ways to change course. Set an ethical exit plan and do not create dependence on an unaccountable outsider. Volunteer missions need safeguarding, language support, financial reporting and feedback from recipients.
Pastoral case to discuss
A water project generates impressive promotional photos but has no maintenance plan. What would a responsible evaluation ask?
Describe the relevant facts and what you would still need to know. Do not present assumptions as the person's motives, diagnose a disorder or make unverified claims about Scripture.
Required practical exercise
Write an impact and accountability plan with community indicators, budget, safeguards and an exit strategy.
Support your answers with passages in context and distinguish biblical teaching, historical interpretation, modern professional standards and personal judgment. Keep real people's details confidential.
