Luke 7:36Then one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to eat with him, and He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.Luke 11:14One day Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. And when the demon was gone, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed,Luke 11:15but some of them said, “It is by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons, that He drives out demons.”Luke 11:16And others tested Him by demanding a sign from heaven.Luke 11:17Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and a house divided against a house will fall.Luke 11:18If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? Instead, he sets it on a stand, so those who enter can see the light.Luke 11:34Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body is full of darkness.Luke 11:35Be careful, then, that the light within you is not darkness.Luke 11:36So if your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, you will be radiant, as though a lamp were shining on you.”Luke 11:37As Jesus was speaking, a Pharisee invited Him to dine with him; so He went in and reclined at the table.Luke 11:38But the Pharisee was surprised to see that Jesus did not first wash before the meal.Luke 11:39Then the Lord said, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.Luke 11:40You fools! Did not the One who made the outside make the inside as well?Luke 11:41But give as alms the things that are within you, and behold, everything will be clean for you.Luke 11:42Woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithes of mint, rue, and every herb, but you disregard justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without neglecting the former.Luke 11:43Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.Luke 11:44Woe to you! For you are like unmarked graves, which men walk over without even noticing.”Luke 11:45One of the experts in the law told Him, “Teacher, when You say these things, You insult us as well.”Luke 11:46“Woe to you as well, experts in the law!” He replied. “For you weigh men down with heavy burdens, but you yourselves will not lift a finger to lighten their load.Luke 11:47Woe to you! For you build tombs for the prophets, but it was your fathers who killed them.Luke 11:48So you are witnesses consenting to the deeds of your fathers: They killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.Luke 11:49Because of this, the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles; some of them they will kill and others they will persecute.’Luke 11:50As a result, this generation will be charged with the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the foundation of the world,Luke 11:51from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, all of it will be charged to this generation.Luke 11:52Woe to you experts in the law! For you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”Luke 11:53As Jesus went on from there, the scribes and Pharisees began to oppose Him bitterly and to ply Him with questions about many things,Luke 11:54waiting to catch Him in something He might say.Luke 12:1In the meantime, a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.Luke 14:1One Sabbath, Jesus went to eat in the home of a leading Pharisee, and those in attendance were watching Him closely.Luke 15:1Now all the tax collectors and sinners were gathering around to listen to Jesus.Luke 15:2So the Pharisees and scribes began to grumble: “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”Luke 15:3Then Jesus told them this parable:Luke 15:4“What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?Luke 15:5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders,Luke 15:6comes home, and calls together his friends and neighbors to tell them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep!’Luke 15:7I tell you that in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who do not need to repent.Luke 15:8Or what woman who has ten silver coins and loses one of them does not light a lamp, sweep her house, and search carefully until she finds it?Luke 15:9And when she finds it, she calls together her friends and neighbors to say, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost coin.’Luke 18:12I fast twice a week and pay tithes of all that I acquire.’John 3:1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews.John 7:48“Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?Acts 15:5But some believers from the party of the Pharisees stood up and declared, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law of Moses.”Acts 22:3“I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but raised in this city.
