Acts 2:14Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice, and addressed the crowd: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen carefully to my words.Acts 2:15These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It is only the third hour of the day!Acts 2:16No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:Acts 2:17‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. He claimed to be someone great,Acts 8:10and all the people, from the least to the greatest, heeded his words and said, “This man is the divine power called the Great Power.”Acts 8:11They paid close attention to him because he had astounded them for a long time with his sorcery.Acts 8:12But when they believed Philip as he preached the gospel of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.Acts 8:27So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official in charge of the entire treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. He had gone to Jerusalem to worship,Acts 8:28and on his return was sitting in his chariot reading Isaiah the prophet.Acts 8:29The Spirit said to Philip, “Go over to that chariot and stay by it.”Acts 8:30So Philip ran up and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.Acts 8:31“How can I,” he said, “unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.Acts 8:32The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so He did not open His mouth.Acts 8:33In His humiliation He was deprived of justice. Who can recount His descendants? For His life was removed from the earth.”Acts 8:34“Tell me,” said the eunuch, “who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”Acts 8:35Then Philip began with this very Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.Acts 8:36As they traveled along the road and came to some water, the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is there to prevent me from being baptized?”Acts 8:37Acts 8:38And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.Acts 9:20Saul promptly began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, declaring, “He is the Son of God.”Acts 13:16Paul stood up, motioned with his hand, and began to speak: “Men of Israel and you Gentiles who fear God, listen to me!Acts 13:17The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers. He made them into a great people during their stay in Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He led them out of that land.Acts 13:18He endured their conduct for about forty years in the wilderness.Acts 13:19And having vanquished seven nations in Canaan, He gave their land to His people as an inheritance.Acts 13:20All this took about 450 years. After this, God gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet.Acts 13:21Then the people asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, from the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years.Acts 13:22After removing Saul, He raised up David as their king and testified about him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart; he will carry out My will in its entirety.’Acts 13:23From the descendants of this man, God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as He promised.Acts 13:24Before the arrival of Jesus, John preached a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.Acts 13:25As John was completing his course, he said, ‘Who do you suppose I am? I am not that One. But there is One coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’Acts 13:26Brothers, children of Abraham, and you Gentiles who fear God, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent.
