MINISTRY TRAINING · MODULE 13 · UNIT 4 OF 4

Families, Caregivers and Partnership

Study passage: Ephesians 6:4. Read the whole surrounding chapter before relying on this unit.

Teaching and interpretation

Families differ in religious experience, structure, finances and available time. A church can support caregivers with short, flexible lessons rather than insisting on a single idealized household. Do not post children's photos, testimonies or names without appropriate permission. Keep communication factual and consider accessibility for children with disabilities.

Pastoral case to discuss

A teacher wants to publish a child’s moving testimony and photograph for fundraising. What permissions and boundaries should apply?

Describe the relevant facts and what you would still need to know. Do not present assumptions as the person's motives, diagnose a disorder or make unverified claims about Scripture.

Required practical exercise

Design a twenty-minute family lesson with optional participation, a private reflection and a practical act of care.

Support your answers with passages in context and distinguish biblical teaching, historical interpretation, modern professional standards and personal judgment. Keep real people's details confidential.
