SELF-STUDY FOCUS · NOT A SEPARATE CREDENTIAL

Church Leadership, Finance & Accountability

Spiritual trust does not eliminate the need for ledgers, clear roles, conflicts-of-interest policies and independent review. This pathway connects biblical ethics to practical safeguards, while acknowledging that legal, tax and accounting rules must be checked by qualified professionals.

Who may benefit

For elders, volunteer treasurers, church leaders and ministry board members.

Read these modules in sequence

Original practical assignment

Create a fictional ministry operating budget, a restricted-gift ledger, a conflict-of-interest disclosure form and a concise financial transparency page. Simulate a related-party procurement decision and document who must recuse themselves, who approves the expenditure and who reconciles funds. Include a grievance process independent of the leader who is the subject of a complaint.

Use the selected modules' formal assignment pages to store original student work. A submitted artifact is private and remains awaiting human review; it is not automatically accepted.

How competence would need to be assessed

A qualified treasurer or independent board reviewer should evaluate the practical usefulness of controls, and the institution must verify its own legal status before making tax or education claims.

Limits: This educational pathway does not provide professional accounting, legal or tax certification.

Supplement with historical primary sources

Historic Christian authors sometimes agree and sometimes contradict one another. Read their actual editions and observe what is interpretation rather than quoting a slogan without context. Choose a guided reading path or search the historical book catalog.
